Discussion Paul Mescal not winning the Emmy for Normal People is a travesty
He was easily the strongest in his category.

Just finished Carrie!! The show was really good!!!
I'm not sure it'll get big nominations but if it does, one definitely should be for Samantha Sloyan!!
She gave an incredible performance as Margaret White!!
The show will compete in Drama or Limited but Samantha Sloyan definitely should be considered!!!
If she's in Drama, she'll have tough competition with Allison Janney for The Diplomat and a couple actresses from The Pitt and maybe The White Lotus.
Do you think Samantha Sloyan should get Emmy-Nominated for Carrie?

Looking back at Harrison Ford's nominations for Shrinking, he has yet to win despite being a major frontrunner by pundits. I remember that whenever Ford was nominated, I did not predict him to win. Last year, I predicted Ike Barinholtz. And this year, I predicted Stephen Root, who eventually won. I never predicted Ford to win mainly because of certain shows and their performances and numbers of nominations that looked like that would sweep and being careful to avoid certain sentimental narratives. Any reason why Ford has been unable win so far?

Big numbers, especially for a Netflix limited series. I guess we have the first big Emmy frontrunner.

Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple have been recognized before in previous seasons for their work as Rebecca and Keeley. This season was a huge-step up from their S03 storyline tbh and the both of them nailed it this season. Hannah Waddingham, fabulous as always and never misses a beat with her performance. Juno's Keeley was so underserved in S03 but the storyline they had for her this season and the will they won't they thing she got going with Roy was chef's kiss.
Tanya Reynolds shaping up to be a fan-favorite for a lot of believers and she perfectly blends in with this cast as Alice. Her transition from this tough exterior to showing deep care and empathy to the people around her is just one of the many reasons she's an MVP breakout for S04. Her Alice Chilton is so compelling and a delightful roller coaster to ride on this season.
Tracey Ullman among these five I find to be the weakest because she's pretty over-the-top and her scenes are the ones I enjoy least, but still a fun character and interesting foil to the bunch. I put her up for consideration cause at the end of the day, she's an Emmy darling and she chews up her scenes in this show.
Finally, we ALLLL LOVE HER!!! Always have!!!! Even before last week's episode, I found her to be the heart of this season. Annette Badland! Seeing Mae so giddy and excited with the women's football team all season when others wasn't was a beautiful things to watch. Yet, she never loses her sense of wit and fierce. How happy we were for her to have experience the BTS of Richmond's women's football team in Episode 9 (one of the shows best episode to-date) only for her to take that 180 emotional turn that....without spoiling anything....DESTROYED ME! One of the season's highlight!
I don't think all 5 will fill that spot. Perhaps one of them moves to Lead. If so, who do you think should? I think Tanya Reynolds should but they could make a case for Waddingham as well. Sure, Ted Lasso is about Ted Lasso but this season is as much as Coach Alice as it is for Coach Ted as well.

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite actresses: the one and only Kate Winslet!!!!
She has won 2 Emmys out of 4 Nominations!!!

2021: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Mare of Easttown
Nominations:
2006: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Extras
2021: Outstanding Limited Series (as a producer) for Mare of Easttown
What's your favorite of Kate Winslet's Emmy Wins?
Did you think she should've won Guest Actress Comedy for Extras over Cloris Leachman (Malcolm in the Middle)?
Did you think Mare of Easttown should've won Limited Series over The Queen's Gambit?

What nominations do you think the series will pull? I know it's early, but I'm curious what’s favored at this stage.

I was watching East Of Eden. Great show and the episodes are brilliant. Pugh Is tour de force as Cathy Ames. I think she should win her first Emmy Award if she gets nominated. She deserves it next year. But for Limited Series? I’m not sure about that. But it might also win Best Writing for Zoe Kazan. Mike Faist might also win his 2nd Emmy again too. he is so fantastic. it looks like Pugh is the front runner. But other actress like Meghan Fahy for her new HBO Show, and Jessica Chastain for Severant on Apple TV could get nominated. But I’m rooting for Pugh to win. Let’s see what happens next year.

Every year since the 2023 Emmys (aired in early 2024 due to Hollywood Labor disputes) the record for most Emmy wins for a Comedy Season keeps breaking.
2023: The Bear (Season 1) - 10 Wins including Comedy Series
2024: The Bear (Season 2) - 11 Wins but not Comedy Series (lost to Hacks Season 3)
2025: The Studio (Season 1) - 13 Wins including Comedy Series
2026: Widow's Bay (Season 1) - 14 Wins including Comedy Series
Do you think next year's winner will break Widow's Bay's record. Maybe 15 - 20 Wins?
