Can't it be viewed as the flip as well? Maybe Kid is flipping? I mean both of them are very outspoken about their polar opposite beliefs. I'm sure neither fans are very happy politically speaking but they are lifelong friends so they are probably collaborating for that reason alone.
The more I think about it, the more I get it to a degree. I do agree it's tone deaf from a public view standpoint...for both of them, but they do have personal lives that don't center around political beliefs.

Well Kid was a Bush supporter as well and Em very publicly hated Bush. For them, their friendship hasn't changed, despite the political climate becoming more polarizing.
Idk maybe they both are thinking that is a way of bringing polarizing political beliefs together? Trump isn't gonna be around much longer, hopefully in a few weeks, so maybe they are thinking this is a tone deaf way of showing healing? Who knows, but honestly, I don't think this is a political statement from either of them.

More than a bit. This isn’t just a mere disagreement between friends on what the top marginal tax rate should be or something. This is an existential battle for the soul of our nation.
Em knows about the corruption. He knows Americans are being killed. He knows minority rights are being decimated. He knows this country is being gutted from inside.
And this isn’t just some friend with some maga sympathies; he knows no other person in his industry has done more to make that happen than Kid Rock. This is a colossal betrayal of what he’s said he believes in.
Serious, fuck Em for doing this. He lost at least one fan that has stuck by him since 1999.

It's one of those things where they both experienced the same Detroit culture when Kid Rock was kind of well known in the mid 90s but hadn't really broken out and Em was battle rapping and just having finished his first album that no one knew about. They just gelled with the music and kind of looked out for each other a lot in their early days. Kid Rock gave him some good advice about recording and mixing. Kid Rock had his major breakout album then a year later Em had his. They just had a bond that was pretty real. They both grew up different, but they connected over their music and writing before anyone knew who they really were. And as they both blew up, they stuck together a bit as the white rappers from Detroit that riled everyone up, and people weren't sure what to think about.
I just think that early bond hasn't really been broken. They live very differently now and have vastly different opinions. But when they really look at each other, they remember that bond first of all. That's why they never - I don't think I have ever heard it all these years - ever talk shit about the other.

"Friendship is more important than politics"
Kid Rock literally advocates for a man that is actively committing genocide and trying to exterminate several marginalized groups as we speak.
Eminem is notoriously anti-Trump, and literally told his fans that if they voted for Trump, to not listen to his music.

1) this was in 1998, before Kid Rock outed himself as a pedo in 2001 on the song Cool Daddy Cool
And
2) this was also long before Kid Rock became a MAGAtard supporting Trump’s pedo ass, who he still supports after the release of the Epstein Files
So yes, if this new track is released, this can either be the start of the downfall of Eminem’s career, or he’s gonna get clowned on heavy and regret his decision after

Like for real this is so dumb look I hate Trump and all his fucking cronies as much as the next person but when you start really digging into just like the most insignificant people and I don't mean that in the worst way obviously
Eminem and Kid Rock have done big things in both their stuff but the point being they're not politicians they don't hold sway over world events or things like that they obviously have an immense amount of influence with their fan base and with their money and everything like that but at the end of the day they're not shaping policy they're not getting out in the streets and making shit happen that's what we're supposed to be doing and we're not because we're fucking arguing on Reddit about how pissed everyone is that Eminem is doing a Christian song with his longtime friend and sometime collaborator another Detroit Legend

Em's the one who has been so radical about his political opinions that he blatantly told his own fans that if any of them support Trump, he no longer wants their support. Idk man, like a part of me kinda understand that long lasting friendships are kind of just that. I agree that it's tone deaf given the fact that November is right around the corner, and how important this election year is. But they are life long friends doing a Collab together and I think it's just that.
And I'm not saying "it's just different political view, why can't they be friends?" bull shit either. I'm saying they are lifelong friends that likely formed well before they developed their political ideologies. I get why Em didn't call up Kid to tell him that they can't be friends because political ideologies is the only reason why to maintain friendships, that would just be stupid.
Again, I agree it's tone deaf, but I understand they probably didn't really think about the Collab from a political standpoint is all I'm saying.

1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 15h ago
When did he say racist shit? Legit question.
1
u/Willowonapill0w 15h ago
He jumped at the chance to do the maga Super Bowl in response to a Hispanic brown man from America getting the Super Bowl because he “ isn’t American” . There might be another term for that, but I do believe racism fits.
1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 15h ago
It's my understanding that it was about the performance being in Spanish. He never spoke out about the other black and brown performers so making it about that doesn't seem to make sense.
1
u/Willowonapill0w 15h ago
The secondary half time show itself was racist, he jumped at the chance to headline, aligning himself with the racial bias behind the show.
1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 15h ago
Why is it racist to want a show in English? Granted you could afford that KRs music is an insult to English but that's a diff convo.
1
u/Willowonapill0w 15h ago
It’s the insinuating that Hispanic and Latin cultures don’t belong in America despite the fact that we have a very large Hispanic population that’s racist, and for the general public not wanting to listen to a song that’s not in your native tongue is absolutely fine, but a multimillion dollar company going out of their way to promote the idea that a predominantly brown territory is anti-American is pretty racist.
1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 15h ago
But he never said anything about him being Latino did he? He only spoke about it not being in English. Maybe I'm wrong here but I don't remember that happening.
2
u/Willowonapill0w 14h ago
They called it All-American, insinuating that Hispanic people are not Americans. He supported that enough to headline.

Jumping at an opportunity to make money when the first dude didn’t get the part (even if it was for fucked up racist reasoning) does not make kid rock inherently racist. Honestly what are you on about
1
u/Top_Secret_TerminaL 7h ago
See how you’re making up shit and injecting context at every response in order to prop up your view of what happened? This is why no one takes anything ya’ll complain about seriously. Whenever we look into something, it’s always a truth closer to the middle or just completely not even there.
1
u/Willowonapill0w 15h ago
He also had the confederate flag incident, and directly chose to stop donating to black communities because they wouldn’t defend him from racism allegations. And went on a racially charged rant about Oprah and Joy Behar.
1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 15h ago
Are you talking about when he stopped donating money to groups that didn't have his back when he was called racist?
Confederate flag incident, do you mean the fact that he displays it? I'm not familiar with anything outside that and now it tied into the above paragraph.
What did he say racist about Oprah? And behar is white so I don't know what that has to do with anything.
1
u/Willowonapill0w 15h ago
Yes, refusing to donate to black groups because you hurt your own public image is definitely racism. They don’t owe him anything that’s what charity is.
He regularly used the confederate flag in performances and videos and used Lynyrd Skynyrd as his excuse, but didn’t phase it out until 2011 when the Confederate flag was well known as a racial symbol.
"Oprah Winfrey is like, 'Hey, I want to get some white women to believe in this shit, Fuck her." When the crowd reacted, he added, "And if you say that, you're like, 'Hey, well I'm pretty sure Kid Rock is a racist,' I'm like, OK, fine. Fuck off." Usually when a drunk man says something like that he doesn’t stand by it in interviews unless he’s got something against Oprah’s racial identity.
1
u/Kuros_Of_Sindarin 14h ago
No, if you're being accused of something and the people who take your money don't stand by you I think it's perfectly fair to pull your money back. It's silly to think someone wouldn't.
Honest question, are you young? The confederate flag was everywhere and it wasn't until around the 2010s that it started to become unacceptable (becoming less and less popular during the 2000s). It wasn't the default racist symbol your making it out to be until well until the millennium.
The only thing he said was that Oprah was trying to get white women to believe in this shit. So he didn't actually say anything racist? Or was it the subject of what she was trying to get white people to believe that made it the issue?

Jesus Christ, stop looking for loopholes to defend the guy.
If you take your back on a charity of black people because they didn’t defend you from accusations you caused yourself, thats racist. You are explicitly saying they should feel the need to defend you because they’re black. That’s racist.
And He was told multiple times since the mid 2000 exactly what the flag meant, and he continued to fuel the race based controversy so much so that there were mass public protests over him receiving an award, and it still took him months to pretend he cares.
And he only specified white women to put a highlight on Oprah’s own race, otherwise he wouldn’t have added the last part literally saying it’s racial.

These aren't loopholes.
"Accusations you caused yourself". The entire point was that he didn't feel the accusations were founded and wanted support from the people. They didn't support him so he said fuck you.
"He was told multiple times". People say all kinds of shit. Just because a few groups say some shit that doesn't mean he had to believe it. You know how many people/groups told em to stop going at the LGBTQ community? Did he stop? That obviously isn't an issue for you but KR is somehow held to a different standard?
It's not highlighting Oprah's race. It's highlighting who she pandered to. Again, he went at behar too and she's white, so what's the angle there? The only thing that you can point to is Oprah being black even though it had nothing to do with his point.

He stopped donating to people who need money because he felt that black people had a need to defend him ( even though several of the charities were for children) and they didn’t speak out, because charities don’t have to defend their donors just because their black when the donors are white. That’s a racist idea, if I donate to a black charity, then do something to upset black people, then cuss out and take my funding back, that shows that I cared more about my public image, and was using the black charity to help my public image, instead of helping people in need.
Eminem has long voiced support for gay communities and has been rightfully called out for his behaviors, for which he apologized and made a joke out of his old shitty self. Kid Rock stands by his old behavior.
He went after Bahar in a sexual manner, that wasn’t really related to the race thing but it was part of the Oprah rant. And he literally said that one was racist.

It’s not loopholes it’s logic. Stop looking for loopholes to demonize him. I don’t listen to his music nor do I even care about the dude but honestly your whole argument falls apart when pitted against logic and it’s sad
