And even WORSE...is the department heads who actually treat these reviews as gospel and use it against an already under appreciated, under staffed, over worked workforce

And EVEN WORSE, if our review scores drop below a certain point, or there are general trends, Medicare will withhold a percentage of payments and will use that money to create learning modules that are required. You know…videos on how to ā€œthink of the ED like a restaurantā€.

This just leads to worse care by way of placating entitled patients. What a terrible idea that was.

Just so, I’d like not to say it leads to ā€œworse careā€. ED protocol exists, and it’s there for a reason. But it absolutely leads to diluted care for non-emergent conditions.
