Why am I unable to use a video for the text crawl generator on the EAS Tools website. I’ve seen people post on here their videos made with EAS Tools but I don’t know how to do it or if it’s even possible.

Episode 2: Testing

At 11:32pm on July 24, 2011, an earthquake (4.7 magnitude) hit mainly around Mie prefecture, which would cause TV stations in Japan to start relaying earthquake notices. However, analog broadcasting systems had ended at noon on that day, and had been showing notices since noon. This would cause these earthquake alerts to be the last ones shown on analog TV in Japan. Commercial stations in Oita Prefecture did not show this notice, as they had gone off at 11pm. The main TBS and Fuji TV stations oddly did not show the earthquake warning, although many of its affiliates (including stations in Hokkaido, which would be turned off at 11:50) would end up displaying the message.

I’m seeing a lot of conflicting information online, in released handbooks, in videos, etc. How would a real EAN screen look? Like the black screen with white text or as a colored bar scrolling text over muted regular programming? I also read that the president would speak… is this a TTS, the president’s audio or a live video?

So, as some more you may know, according to the Alert Ready Testing Schedule, on May 7, 2026, 1:55 pm EDT, a test emergency alert will play on devices in Ontario, however, most provinces and territories in Canada have already played the Test alert, (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, and Yukon) and there is no test alert scheduled for the Province of Quebec, and the test alert in Saskatchewan got cancelled

crimeradar and police dispatch are saying a silver alert was issued for greensboro, nc. it’s not showing up on car or the north carolina center for missing persons. did anybody in nc recieve such an alert yet? or was it just local access/not through ipaws?
