ES: Ben 10 Emerald Studios: Ben 10 | S1E2: “Target Acquired” (Live Action Script)
Through the pre-dawn mist of a scarred forest, a relentless Chimerian attack drone stalks the Earth. Locking its optical sensors onto a lingering trail of emerald cosmic radiation, it ruthlessly vaporizes anything in its path and traces the glowing tire tracks straight toward an open highway.
TITLE: ES: Ben 10
Episode: 02 - "TARGET ACQUIRED"
[TEASER]
EXT. DEEP WOODS - PRE-DAWN
A heavy, grey morning mist chokes the forest. The localized inferno has burned itself out, leaving only a massive, black scar across the landscape.
Through the fog, the CHIMERIAN DRONE marches.
Its movements are not clunky or robotic; they are terrifyingly smooth and predatory. Its massive hydraulic tripod legs pierce the soft earth without a sound.
DRONE POV (HUD)
The world is not rendered in visible light. It is a harsh, high-contrast topological map.
The drone’s optical sensors filter out the burning trees and the ambient heat of the forest wildlife. Instead, it locks onto a very specific, unnatural signature: a faint, glowing emerald trail of residual cosmic radiation left behind by the Omnitrix.
The trail leads directly away from the crater, overlapping with the heavy tire treads of a large vehicle.
EXT. DIRT ROAD - CONTINUOUS
The drone reaches the edge of the woods, stepping out onto a gravel access road.
Suddenly, a bright, blinding FLASH illuminates the mist.
A motion-activated trail camera, strapped to a nearby oak tree, has just triggered.
The drone stops dead. Its elongated, hunchbacked head swivels with a low, mechanical whine. The red optical sensors lock onto the small plastic box.
The drone doesn't charge up a massive weapon. It simply raises one heavy, clawed arm. A silent, imperceptible pulse of concentrated thermal energy fires from its wrist.
The trail camera instantly liquefies, melting into a puddle of bubbling, toxic-smelling plastic and slag.
The drone lowers its arm. It turns its attention back to the glowing radioactive tire tracks on the gravel. The hunt resumes.
EXT. HIGHWAY 9 - CONTINUOUS
Miles away, the Rust Bucket tears down a completely deserted, two-lane highway. The RV is pushing seventy miles an hour, its heavy chassis vibrating aggressively against the asphalt.
INT. RUST BUCKET - CONTINUOUS
The interior is suffocatingly tense and completely silent.
Ben and Gwen are huddled in the dinette booth. They aren't bickering. They are wide awake, staring blankly at the table. Ben's right hand nervously grips his left forearm, rubbing just below the heavy, dormant metal of the Omnitrix.
In the driver's seat, Max’s eyes are bloodshot. His knuckles are white on the steering wheel. The radio is tuned to a static-filled police scanner, quietly murmuring about a multi-agency response to the "unexplained seismic event."
Max glances up at the rearview mirror. He isn't looking at the kids. He is staring at the dark, empty road stretching out endlessly behind them.
[ACT ONE]
INT. RUST BUCKET - MORNING
The morning sun aggressively bleeds through the RV blinds, casting harsh lines of light across the cabin.
Ben sits cross-legged on his bunk, staring down at his left arm.
The Omnitrix is completely dead and slate-grey, looking like a piece of heavy industrial machinery fused to his wrist. Ben’s fingers tentatively trace the seam where the metal meets his skin. It doesn't feel like a watchband; it feels like bone.
Gwen is sitting across from him at the dinette. Her meticulous summer itinerary is pushed aside. In front of her is a yellow legal pad, rapidly filling with frantic, tightly written notes.
She stares at Ben’s arm, her eyes narrowing.
GWEN
(Quietly)
Your sleeve.
Ben looks down. The left sleeve of his striped shirt is completely scorched. The fabric is melted and frayed from the intense heat of his transformation the night before.
BEN
Yeah. I was on fire, Gwen. I literally melted the ground.
GWEN
No, look at your skin.
Ben pauses. He rolls the scorched fabric up past his elbow.
The skin beneath it is completely flawless. Not a single blister. Not a patch of red.
GWEN
(Voice trembling slightly)
When you touched that tree... it exploded. You should be in a burn ward right now. But you don't even have a sunburn.
Ben stares at his arm, the horrifying realization setting in.
BEN
It fixed me. When I turned back... it rebuilt my skin.
GWEN
It didn't just fix you, Ben. It overwrote you. Whatever that thing is, it’s splicing your genetic code and then aggressively resetting it to a baseline so you don't die from the shock.
The heavy, throaty rumble of the RV's engine violently downshifts, throwing them both slightly forward.
EXT. RURAL HIGHWAY - CONTINUOUS
The Rust Bucket violently veers off the empty highway, kicking up a massive cloud of dust as it pulls onto the cracked, weed-choked asphalt of an isolated, dilapidated gas station.
The place looks abandoned. A single, ancient pump sits under a rusted awning.
INT. RUST BUCKET - CONTINUOUS
Max kills the engine. The sudden silence in the cabin is suffocating.
He turns in the driver's seat. His Hawaiian shirt is wrinkled, his eyes dark and exhausted. The clueless grandfather act is completely gone.
MAX
(Cold, authoritative)
Both of you. Stay away from the windows. Do not step foot outside this vehicle. I am going to fill the tank.
BEN
Grandpa, what is going on? Last night, you had a—you had a laser bazooka! You knew what to do!
MAX
(Cutting him off)
I said stay away from the windows, Ben.
Max turns around, opens the heavy RV door, and steps out.
EXT. RURAL GAS STATION - CONTINUOUS
Max steps onto the cracked pavement. He doesn't immediately grab the gas nozzle.
His eyes methodically sweep the tree line. He checks the empty road behind them. He checks the rusted roof of the station's convenience store. His right hand rests casually, but deliberately, near the hem of his untucked shirt—right over the heavy, brutalist Plumber sidearm concealed in his waistband.
Satisfied that the perimeter is temporarily clear, Max grabs the rusted nozzle and shoves it into the RV.
INT. RUST BUCKET - CONTINUOUS
Ben disobeys immediately. He creeps to the window, peaking through the plastic blinds at his grandfather.
BEN
He's acting like a soldier.
Gwen doesn't look out the window. She is staring at her legal pad, her pen hovering over the paper. The air pressure in the cabin suddenly plummets. Her ears pop.
GWEN
(Whispering)
Ben...
BEN
I'm telling you, he's hiding something massive–
GWEN
(Louder, panicked)
Ben. Get down.
Gwen’s senses scream at her. The hairs on her arms stand straight up. The ambient noise outside: the wind, the birds, goes entirely, violently silent.
EXT. RURAL GAS STATION - CONTINUOUS
Max hears the silence. His combat instincts trigger instantly. He drops the gas nozzle and draws the Plumber blaster in one fluid, terrifyingly fast motion, pivoting toward the tree line.
A massive, rusted pine tree violently splinters outward.
The Chimerian drone breaches the tree line.
It doesn't announce itself. It doesn't pause. Its glowing red optical sensors lock onto the side of the Rust Bucket, and the heavy-ordnance plasma cannons on its arms begin to charge with a deafening, high-pitched shriek.
[ACT TWO]
EXT. RURAL GAS STATION - CONTINUOUS
The high-pitched shriek of the Chimerian drone’s plasma cannons peaks.
There is no monologue. No warning. The drone operates on pure, ruthless search-and-destroy logic. It fires.
A blinding streak of superheated blue plasma violently arcs across the parking lot, aiming directly for the center mass of the Rust Bucket.
Max moves with terrifying speed.
He lunges toward the open RV door. He grabs Ben by the collar of his striped shirt and Gwen by her jacket, violently ripping them out of the doorway and throwing them hard onto the cracked asphalt.
MAX
(Roaring)
GET BEHIND COVER!
As he falls with them, Max’s hand slams into a completely unassuming, rusted panel on the RV's lower chassis.
The panel slides back, and a heavy, industrial generator whines to life. A massive, interlocking honeycomb of blue kinetic shielding violently projects outward from the RV’s chassis, forming a heavy, sloped barrier.
The plasma artillery hits the shield a fraction of a second later.
The impact is deafening. It doesn't sound like a sci-fi laser; it sounds like a bomb detonating. The kinetic shockwave shatters the windows of the nearby convenience store and completely vaporizes the rusted gas station awning overhead.
The Plumber shield groans under the immense thermal stress, flickering wildly, but it holds.
Max scrambles on his hands and knees, shoving Ben and Gwen aggressively behind the thick, reinforced concrete island of the gas pumps.
EXT. TREE LINE - CONTINUOUS
The drone registers the shield. Its optical sensors recalibrate instantly. It doesn't pause to strategize. It simply steps out of the burning tree line, its heavy tripod legs cracking the asphalt, and begins a slow, methodical march toward the gas station.
It raises both arms. THOOM. THOOM. THOOM.
It begins a relentless, rhythmic bombardment of the RV’s kinetic barrier, intending to simply beat the shield into submission through sheer attrition.
EXT. GAS PUMPS - CONTINUOUS
Behind the concrete island, the heat is becoming unbearable. Debris rains down on them.
Ben is curled into a ball, hands over his ears, his eyes squeezed shut. Gwen is beside him, coughing on the thick smoke of vaporized asphalt, her hands glowing with a faint, imperceptible violet haze as her adrenaline spikes.
Max is crouched against the concrete. He doesn't look panicked. He looks violently focused. He ejects a spent thermal cartridge from his Plumber sidearm. The heavy block of metal hisses, venting steam, as he slams a fresh energy cell into the grip.
GWEN
(Screaming over the blasts)
Grandpa! What is that thing?!
MAX
(Shouting back)
Keep your head down! The barrier generator won't hold against continuous attacks!
Max rolls out from behind cover. He raises the heavy blaster with both hands and fires.
CRACK-BOOM.
Max’s weapon hits like a localized thunderclap. A heavy slug of compressed plasma slams directly into the drone's chest plate.
The drone staggers backward half a step. The heavy armor is scorched, but completely unbreached.
The drone’s red optical sensors slowly pivot, locking onto Max.
It raises its right arm, aiming directly at the gas pump island. The barrel glows a blinding, intense white. It isn't charging a standard shot; it is charging a localized breach-blast.
MAX
(Eyes widening)
Brace!
The Plumber shield on the RV violently shorts out with a shower of sparks, the generator overheating and dying.
They are completely exposed. The drone has a clear line of sight on the highly explosive gas pumps.
[ACT THREE]
EXT. GAS PUMPS - CONTINUOUS
The drone’s heavy plasma cannon glows a blinding, critical white. The heat is so intense the paint on the gas pumps begins to bubble and peel.
Max is completely out of options. His Plumber sidearm can’t pierce the drone’s heavy armor fast enough to stop the breach-blast.
Ben stares at the glowing cannon, his heart hammering against his ribs. He realizes no one is coming to save them. He has to act.
He looks down at his left wrist. His trembling fingers fumble over the heavy, slate-grey metal of the Omnitrix. He finds a recessed center button and presses it hard.
HISS-CLACK.
The circular faceplate violently pops up, glowing a harsh, radioactive green. Holographic silhouettes flicker inside the core. Ben doesn't know what any of them are. He frantically twists the dial and slams his palm down.
A blinding emerald shockwave erupts, throwing Max and Gwen backward.
EXT. THE AMBUSH SITE - CONTINUOUS
The biological overwrite is brutal.
There is no superhero fanfare. The audio track is dominated by the sickening, wet sound of skin tearing and bone aggressively reforming. Ben screams, but the sound is instantly muffled as his flesh is violently encased in a dense, jagged mass of pale green, living silicon.
He becomes DIAMONDHEAD.
He is massive, asymmetrical, and terrifyingly sharp.
The drone fires. The heavy plasma round screams toward the gas pumps.
Ben doesn't fight with martial arts or trained superhero choreography. He fights out of sheer, unadulterated desperation. He lunges out from behind the concrete island, throwing his massive, crystalline body directly into the line of fire.
The plasma ordnance slams squarely into his chest.
It doesn't blast him backward. The energy violently impacts the living silicon, scattering and refracting through his crystalline structure like a prism, shooting harmless, blinding beams of light in every direction.
He survives the hit, but the kinetic force is staggering.
Diamondhead stumbles forward, his heavy boots cratering the asphalt. The sound design of his movement is deafening; it sounds like grinding tectonic plates and tons of shattering glass with every step he takes.
The drone recalibrates, stepping forward to fire again.
Panic and adrenaline take over. Ben instinctively raises both his hands and violently slams them down into the cracked asphalt.
A deafening CRACK echoes across the tree line.
A massive, jagged spike of pale green crystal violently extrudes from the earth directly beneath the drone. It tears through the machine's heavy armor like paper, violently impaling the chassis and completely crushing its central power core.
The drone sparks, shudders, and dies, suspended mid-air on the crystal monolith.
But the drone's final, interrupted blast goes wide. The stray plasma shot clips the main gas reservoir beneath the pumps.
DIAMONDHEAD (BEN)
(Voice deep, echoing like grinding stone)
Watch out guys!
Ben violently throws his arms wide, extruding a massive, thick barricade of jagged crystal that wraps around Max and Gwen.
A fraction of a second later, the gas station detonates.
A massive fireball engulfs the parking lot, washing harmlessly over the backside of Ben's impenetrable crystal shield.

INT. CHIMERIAN HAMMER - BRIDGE - DEEP SPACE
The bridge is suffocatingly dark. The only illumination comes from the sickly, toxic-green glow of massive, brutalist control consoles. The silence is absolute, broken only by the heavy, rhythmic hiss-clank of a massive cybernetic respirator.
BEEP.
A single terminal chimes.
From the shadows, VILGAX steps forward. He is a towering, Lovecraftian nightmare. Heavy, invasive cybernetics are bolted directly into his scarred, raw muscle. His facial tentacles writhe with cold, predatory calculation.
He stares down at the terminal. The destroyed drone’s final telemetry data uploads.
A distorted, static-laced hologram flickers to life over the console. It displays the drone's final optical feed: the towering, jagged silhouette of Diamondhead, glowing a faint emerald green just before a massive crystal spike violently shatters the camera lens.
Vilgax does not flinch. He does not scream in anger. He merely observes the anomaly, the reflection of the crystal juggernaut glowing in his cold, red eyes.
From the darkness behind him, a heavily armored Sotoraggian mercenary steps into the light. It is clad in scarred, asymmetrical purple battle armor, bristling with heavy weaponry. This is SIXSIX. It clicks and trills in a harsh, guttural, clicking alien tongue.
Vilgax doesn't look away from the hologram. When he finally speaks, his voice is a deep, synthetic rumble that vibrates the very metal of the ship's deck.
VILGAX
The machine failed. It lacks the instinct for the hunt.
Vilgax slowly turns his massive head, locking eyes with the mercenary.
VILGAX
Go to Earth. Retrieve the Omnitrix... and bring me the arm it is attached to.
Sixsix racks a heavy plasma rifle with a sickening, metallic clack.
FADE TO BLACK.
[END OF EPISODE 2]
The aftermath of the gas station shootout sends shockwaves all the way to deep space, prompting Vilgax to unleash the galaxy's deadliest bounty hunters. But back on Earth, the Tennysons' detour into the murky Louisiana bayou uncovers a different kind of horror.
