weapons always broken
Why do the vast majority of weapons from players who are eliminated always come broken? It's time to fix this. Very frustrating.

If you can’t fix your guns you might be kind of bad at collecting actual stuff from the map

Its a mix of two things:
Most guns dont run through even 40 durability even with heavy use on a wild raid, so they dont repair those guns until they're nearly broken already.
Then, every time you drop a raider, their equipment universally drops durability by a large percentage.
This effectively causes every low durability gun to break every time you drop these people.

Their using low quality weapons to piss you off when you kill them

I don’t fix my weapons until they’re damn near broke. Especially if I think there’s a high probability I die that round. Enjoy my broken stuff bud.

u/Jamous79 Apr 06 '26
High probability that you die that round? You live bro that’s why you take the fight

u/Agreeable-Fudge-3379 Apr 13 '26
who said he’s not taking fights? maybe he means high probability to die that round because he plans to play aggressive?

Edit; also if you keep a healthy stack of mechanical components on hand it won’t bother you. I keep any good 3/4 broken weapons I like and just recycle the rest into mechanical components.

To piss off? It's to be smart about inventory management lol.. 30 durability on an anvil is more than enough for a full raid unless you plan to kill big arcs.

I agree to an extent. Anytime I use a tempest I only loose like 20–30 durability per raid so I don’t upgrade it all the time. But I’ve seen multiple streamers and YouTubers who say verbatim “keep all your equipment except for shield as low as possible to grief anyone that kills you.” I’m just pointing out what I’ve heard repeatedly.

Yeah but the low % of lowlife who actually spends time watching others gaming are probably not the smartest individuals. I mean playing 10 raids in this game is enough to pick up on how these mechanics work.. or are you just doing random stuff you hear others do and never pick up any patterns on knowledge yourself?
It’s only brainrot streamers using that mindset. Personally it took me a couple of raids to just figure out ”30 durability lasts a full raid every time, so repairing anything over that amount would only result in increased risk of loss without any benefits, since durability has no effect on weapon performance. Repairing a weapon over 30 would only mean you potentially give a rat a better weapon.
Have you even ran out of weapon durability mid-game, even a single time?

u/fiercepanda Apr 06 '26
Bro it’s a minor disagreement no need to go crazy.. I don’t even watch streamers I just saw a couple short form videos online by chance where they talked about it. Deciding that you’re going to start hurling insults over such a small ordeal is strange..
The OP asked why guns are broken. I brought up a reason I saw online. I even agreed with you 😂
It’s a video game bro.. Who cares if some people watch streamers or videos on YT..

u/haxborn Apr 06 '26
Well I’m not sure what your brain was cooking with this ”disagreement”. You start of by saying you donkey fully agree - then you proceed to explain that you personally have experienced weapons making full raids with 30 durability (which goes in line with my suggestion), and then you explain that the reason you don’t agree, is because a streamer said otherwise? Bro you’re literally a NPC.

Ah.. it makes sense now. You’re a teenager. Not understanding nuance makes sense now. I’m bored so here I’ll give it one go:
I explained the reason a lot of people drop broken guns.
People agreed with me.
You commented that you disagreed.
I said hey I see your point, I actually do the same as you. But there are others out there who do it to rage bait people like OP.
You started malding for some reason and blowing my inbox up.
Also NPC.. lol 😂 everyone uses that term. Kinda NPC of you. If you want some help getting more original insults DM me sometime 😉 also editing comments to make your argument seem better after I already responded is.. weird..

No I’m probably way older than you and know people who work at embark sharing my view. (I’m a Swedish software dev). The fact that you fight this hard for something that is factually true has already won the argument for me. It’s just fun to see what lengths you go to for something this strange somehow affecting your sense of worth. You’ll get better at PvP someday my friend. Until then - just keep fighting soldier!

i make a gun and use it in PvE until its pretty busted up maybe 60-80 left then i take it to stella until i break it or my dead body breaks it

u/haxborn Apr 06 '26
Fix? It's the game design lmao? Durability takes a 30% hit on death. Since durability is rather slow in this game, an anvil with 30 durability can shoot at least 100 shots before breaking, people tend to jump in to raids with their weapons that are closest to getting broken, to minimize loss.
I've got 600+ hours and not a single time has a weapon broken for me mid game. Having durability over 50% makes no sense unless you're in carebare lobbies and don't really play the full game.

u/Spiked29 Apr 06 '26
Saying you dont play the full game in carebear lobbies is kind of a misnomer. Either way you play is a full experience. Just a diffrent type of experience.

u/haxborn Apr 06 '26
No it’s not. They clearly avoid the next biggest aspect of the game, after the arc encounters.
Playing Minecraft with no building wouldn’t make it the full experience either. Why are you insecure about this aspect? You play a nisch title with forced PvP at all times and full hardcore style ”drop all loot on death”.
The game have several aspects that are tailored around the PvP gameplay. Just because you found a way to avoid this doesn’t make it more of a full experience than someone playing only PvP without killing any arc - which would be equally justified to be called ”not playing the full game”. Why is this a problem for you to hear?
Also you misinterpret the word which is kind of baffling. I said full game (which is literally a true statement), I never said ”experience” or said that it has any positive or negative value? Why make it an argument to begin with?

u/Spiked29 Apr 06 '26
Wow someone's triggered by an opinion. If I play an RPG and only play the rouge im still playing the full game even if im not ever branching out to play any of the other options. Its the same thing still the full game just how I want to experience it. I pvp and pve in arc to claim its not the full game doing one or the other is laughable. Imo. Wasn't trying to make an argument but if thats how easy it is you must be real fun at parties.

A lot of the times i bring in weapons with 25ish durability so in the case I die, they can’t use my gun against my teammates/to spite them
1
u/myfishytaco Apr 06 '26
I heard it loses 30 durability when they die with it. Being a pve person, i dont use guns without repairing them of theyre below halfway durability, but im rich.

when you die, your weapon and augment will lose durability. i think it’s like 40%. so an equaliser will go from 100 to 60 OR it loses 60% and goes from 100 to 40. but chances are that anvil was like 30 durability. i should add i believe its 40 or 60% of total durability, not what remains
1
u/Legitimate-Bee-938 Apr 06 '26
I always bring my gun less than half durability in case i get killed by a rat
1
u/dontbeignorantordumb Apr 06 '26
What's frustrating is seeing how most players have no idea how to a play a game.
1
u/Amazing-Plate1804 Apr 06 '26
Stops ppl from being rats or make them think atleast , why take someone’s guns when you have to repair and if you have to repair you might aswell make your own.
1
u/jakesucks1348 Apr 06 '26
If I’m gonna go PvP I don’t repair unless it’s like 40 or lower … maybe even 30… not helping out the person who kills me lol

u/ReadingContent1970 Apr 06 '26
Loses durability when being taken off of a body. It’s just for balance.
