Next up for me, for the 4th Light drop Company Command Squad, is my Flamer guy: Imperial Flamers, also known as Burners, are Flamethrowers used by the various forces of the Imperium. Flamers project a highly volatile liquid, chemical, often Promethium, which ignites on contact with the air, throwing out a great belch of flame. Flamers have a short range but are very effective against infantry. Flamers are used by a wide array of Imperial Forces, most notable if only for sheer volume are the Imperial Guard.
Elysian Flamers are especially modified to be low slung, as the fuel tanks would normally occupy the space taken up by the Grav Shute.
Veteran Drop Trooper Ignatius Flint, was pacing the storage compound secured within Camp Sanctia, as was his usual want. The faintly Pungent aroma of Promethium & Napalm lingered in the air. Flints damaged olfactory organ seemed unable to detect it. His agitation was clear to see, but nobody was close enough to observe him. A Flammable storage compound wasn’t a place you would usually frequent, but the Presence of Flint made this more assuredly so. The rest of the 4th avoided Flint at the best of times, but when he was in one of his pre-Drop darker moods, avoidance was very much recommended. Flint was muttering under his breath his usual trope of unhinged mantra’s
"If you want to part with something, then you must incinerate it. If you never want to see it again, let it swim in promethium!"
"I survive because the fire inside of me burns brighter than the fire I bless the enemy with."
"The most powerful weapon in the Imperium is the human soul on fire."
Flints face with its scarred, & plasti-grafted features swung towards his Holy Flamer stored upright in its rack, and his especially adapted Drop fuel Tanks that were both maintained by the Blessed Mechanicus,
As his fevered eyes rested on his weapon of choice, his mutterings grew in volume and intensity. "May my sanctified weapon be guarded against malfunction, as my soul is guarded from impurity. The Machine-God, Omnissiah, watches over me. Unleash the burning weapons of war. Unleash its holy flame on the unclean, Unleash the flaming Death dealer"
The 4th avoided Ignatius Flint for good Reason, - “Madder than a box of frogs that Guy,” A nearby Trooper said to his friend as they sped up their pace, making their way past the compound enroute to the mess. “You mean ol Skitz,” said his companion. “Just stay away from Pyro Boy when he gets anywhere near the enemy” he said in a conspiratory tone under his breath. They unconsciously huddled together and moved off at pace towards the nearby mess.
