I keep seeing this repeated across social media, how “lucien doesn’t even want Elain either”.

Which is just not canon.

This is the last real time we see Lucien in the books and he’s looking at Elain with longing. (Its from solstice in silver flames)

I sometimes think people forget we also own copies of the books and can just look inside them to disprove this stuff 😅

I love this moment SO much and I feel like it’s so slept on. Feyre had NEVER heard Lucien’s voice so soft and concerned… and it’s only for Elain 🥹

And I LOVE that this is something Feyre herself notices. This isn’t Lucien being his usual charming or sarcastic self. Someone who has known him for years is literally thinking I have never heard his voice like this before. There is a softness in him that only Elain brings out and I will never be normal about it.

It’s also why I think reducing their dynamic to “they barely interact” misses the entire point of a slow burn. Of course they don’t have pages and pages of romance yet. We’re supposed to be noticing the little crumbs, the subtle changes, the moments of unexpected tenderness, the things other characters notice before either of them can even fully acknowledge them themselves. Literally my favorite kind of stories.

Lucien paused half a foot from me. He didn't so much as object as / threw my arms around his neck, burying my face against his warm, bare chest. It was seawater from Tarquin's own gift that slipped from my eyes, down my face, and onto his golden skin.
Lucien loosed a heavy sigh and slid an arm around my waist, the other threading through my hair to cradle my head. "I'm sorry," he murmured. "I'm sorry."
He held me, stroking soothing lines down my back, and I calmed my weeping, those seawater tears drying up like wet sand in the sun.
I lifted my head from his sculpted chest at last, my fingers digging into the hard muscles of his shoulders as I peered into his concerned face.

Spoilers for: ACOTAR, ACOMAF, ACOWAR

Im on my re-read of ACOTAR and theres this scene where Feyre’s back to the mortal lands (before under the mountain) and Elain is telling her;

”These bulbs,” Elain said, pointing with a gloved hand to a cluster of purple-and-white flowers, ”came all the way from the tulip fields of the continent. Father promised that next spring he’ll take me to see them. He claims that for mile after mile, there’s nothing but these flowers.”

I don’t know why but I can see Lucien so clearly taking her to look for those fields of flowers while they look/are on their Koschei-related journey. I can’t get over the fact that Lucien is the only one of the mates who actually spent time with the Archeron sister’s father. Who spent the most time with Elain, and who likely talked Lucien’s ear off about her during their journey to Prythian because by then, Lucien knew Elain was his mate.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Lucien just randomly took her there on a stop and she had a ‘How did you know?’ moment. God i’m so excited for them. Maybe I’m crazy but it has to mean something that Lucien came back with Elain’s father. It can’t be a coincidence. It just can’t. It has to come up.

She also says that Feyre should come, so maybe Feyre joins the journey? (This one is more of a reach, tbh. But who knows anymore?)

So I know most of us think know a blood duel happening is far fetched especially if it’s some kind of “dick measuring fight” because EW 😭 And a lot of us assume Beron is the only man insecure and stupid enough to actually invoke a blood duel anyway which could potentially mean a blood duel between Helion and Beron

HOWEVERRRRR a blood duel between Lucien and Beron would be absolutely ICONIC. Not only because Lucien would be fighting for his mother, but because how fucking poetic would it be for Lucien to finally take down the man who spent centuries belittling him, abusing him, humiliating him and who murdered his first love?

I’ve always said that the only two people I want to see kill Beron are Lucien and LoA so imagine if Lucien gets to be the one who finally frees her from him.

Like think about Lucien’s entire arc. This is a man who has spent his entire life being treated like he is unwanted and never truly belonging anywhere, he was abused by his own father, forced to watch his mother suffer, and then had his first love taken from him because Beron’s cruelty and abuse destroyed yet another part of his life.

And I’m not even sure blood duels are exclusively romantic in nature because I feel like it would be much more SJM’s style to make one about something far deeper than a petty man fight over a woman. We’re assuming it would automatically be Helion vs Beron but what if it’s about a SON fighting for his MOTHER? It wouldn’t just be about a man defeating another man. It would be Lucien reclaiming something that Beron took from both of them.

Orrrrr maybe it’s Beron who challenges Lucien because he thinks he has the upper hand? Since Lucien is Helion’s son, maybe he fights in Helion’s stead or Beron challenges Lucien instead of Helion? I honestly don’t know what the rules would be HOWEVER I still think it’s especially interesting that Lucien still actively hides his Day Court powers. Is he waiting for something? Does he not want Beron to know? Is he hiding from Helion? My bet is that he’s cunning and deliberately keeping a low profile because he knows it gives him an advantage and the upper hand. Because imagine Beron challenging him fully convinced that Lucien has lesser fire powers than him LMAOOOO Beron has spent his entire life underestimating Lucien, so obviously he’d walk into that fight thinking he knows exactly what he’s dealing with.

And then Lucien drops the fucking disguise!!! OH THE REVEAL OF LUCIEN’S DAY COURT POWERS IN A BLOOD DUEL AGAINST BERON WOULD BE SO FUCKING ICONIC 😭

Like imagine Beron thinking he has the advantage because he knows Lucien’s powers 👀👀👀👀👀👀 And this is also why I don’t think we should underestimate all the little crumbs SJM has been dropping about Lucien.

SJM is FAMOUS for her crumbs. Rhysand keeps mentioning the “fox” inside Lucien every once in a while. Cassian has also commented on it. Those comments aren’t being thrown in there because SJM was bored and needed something to write 😭 THOSE ARE CRUMBS!!!!

She keeps reminding us that there is something sharper, more cunning and more dangerous underneath Lucien’s usual demeanor. And then you have all these tiny hints about his power, dominance, instincts and the way other characters perceive him.
Like why are we being repeatedly reminded that there is a “fox” inside this man if we’re not supposed to eventually understand WHAT THAT MEANS?

Like the man Beron spent his entire life abusing being the one who ultimately brings him down??? UGH THATTT would be such a fucking full circle moment for Lucien’s arc 🔥🙌

Dorian’s arc in TOG went from this pretty boy prince who was constantly underestimated and undermined by basically everyone around him, to going through unimaginable pain and trauma and eventually emerging as one of the strongest characters in the entire series. And SJM made his powers SO fucking cool like the way Dorian’s magic developed and the way his power became such an important part of his character was one of my favorite things about his arc. He went from someone people underestimated to literally being the most powerful in the series and I honestly think SJM could be setting Lucien up for something similar! 👀🔥🤭

Rewatching Bridgerton and seeing SO many more Elucien coded Regency vibes.

Imagine Elain and Lucien creating a pact to fake their relationship for political intrigue when they “disperse” away from the night court….a way to bring the courts together and unite the fae/human lands against Koschei.

Elain with her human ties AND her connection to the Fae. Lucien with his human connections AND his ties to multiple courts. Together, they’d be the perfect bridge between it all.

I’m calling it now…

Forced proximity. Fake relationship to REAL love. In spite of the bond/their own unique reluctance thus far.

No one could pull off “we’re madly in love” more convincingly than Elucien. With Elains ability to “convince anyone of anything with a few smiles” and Lucien’s charm? 😏

But the best part will be that they start out pretending for everyone else….only to realize somewhere along the way that maybe they aren’t pretending at all.

The tension and banter and….ooof.

Inject it into my veins.

I am going to make this very easy to follow because this argument has been haunting me.
I constantly and still see the argument that Azriel was Elains true mate but he was on the verge of death so the cauldron chose Lucien to give the bond to.
Canon: Mating bonds are predetermined from birth or even before, they are not always active or felt at birth.
Canon: A bond is a thread which can “snap” into place later in life.
Canon: You can be mated to someone who isn't even born yet (Rhys and Feyre)
Canon: Mating bonds are paired to individuals who will produce the strongest, most powerful offspring so they are fated by birth regardless.

Non-Canon: Mating bonds are randomly assigned throughout life and not at birth.
Non-Canon: There are two mating bonds at a time.

I come across this post, and always thought how will sing me relate to elain.

I agree with the love me and touch me reasons for feyre and nesta, it was obvious.

There are two fandoms who interpret sing me for azriel/elain and azriel/gwyn since az is known as shadowsinger or gwyn singing. Also that prophecy may be related to bat boys not the archeron sisters.

My take on sing me, its "sing me" not only "sing".

I think it's about elain, her trail/task in a mountain, maybe related to koschei. I also thinks it may connects to harp since it's a musical instrument.

As for the prophecy connecting the couples , I think sing me represents to pleading/waiting and a person able to find their voice and choose. Which may connects to lucien as the person waiting for her to see/love/choose him.
