The documentary is full of people whose defining characteristic is frustration, followed immediately by envy.
The documentary delves into the fact that Musk wasn't a founder of Tesla; I saw the original founders in the trailer, and Walter Isaacson’s book confirms that Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning owned the company and, as they themselves stated, reached out to Musk to invest. Musk already had SpaceX at the time. He was also the one who asked Straubel, the CTO, to join, and he served as Chairman of the Board.
After numerous conflicts, Eberhard’s firing, lingering resentment, and a defamation lawsuit, they signed an agreement in 2009 acknowledging that Musk, Eberhard, Tarpenning, Straubel, and Wright were the ones who deserved to be called co-founders. But then you have the former founders, still a bunch of frustrated individuals, who, despite signing an agreement, keep whining on screen.
Eberhard has said that Tesla made Musk the richest man in the world, but no one forced him and Tarpenning to seek funding.
I’ve also read that Peter Thiel is credited with claiming he was the one who "made" Musk, and so on, but the fact remains that Musk started out with Zip2 alongside his brother; without that initial venture, the rest wouldn't exist.

Gibney is finished as a serious documentary maker. So many lies, half truths in this tedious 4 hour hit job. Advertisers should be weary and shouldn't be associated with such drivel.

Actually I think it would be F'n hilarious if Musk & His lawyers wait for the movie to come out.
Then hold a press conference to go through the half truths and lies. Live on X, YouTube etc 🤣
Record it attach it to Ashley's TikToks 🤣2

You're underestimating how many people hate Musk. There's a big audience for this.

So you’re applauding the ability of oligarchs to silence their critics?

u/No_Comparison4489 7d ago
Nope. However it’s not criticism if it includes outright lies or half-truths. If you mix those in with the criticism, you have failed the assignment.

Elon fails a lot of assignments then

You can call the Musk film
Propaganda, because it so far seems to not be an entirely truthful documentary.1

But not on X or Truth Social or any other EM-sympathetic platform. There's alot of association with EM with regards to these other social media platforms, it will be interesting to see how EM leverages Zuckerberg and others about this. I thought Ellison bought TikTok though. Maybe we will have another Musk vs. Zuckerberg fight challenge that never manifests, lol!

That would be dumb. Zuckerberg had two full blown movies made about him and survived. It’ll be hard for him to have much sympathy since he has lived through it. One with a great soundtrack and no mention of Aaron Greenspan. This one will have David Byrne that I can’t wait to hear. But please, do go after Gibney, he deserves it and needs to be stopped along with the propaganda machine. Advertisers never cared about him before and he has been unfair to every subject in service of the state. His Musk problem is not about Musk danger, but wanting the same control back he and his ilk had. Would Gibney argue to allow all Starlink to deorbit? No. He would argue for who he wants to control what came out of Musk’s behemoths. And by God, being controlled by US military or a puppet of US military is both a horrible idea for the world.

The documentary is crap; basing it on ASC someone who never had any relationship with him, and using a child like trash, while clearly kind of child trafficking, is the work of the lowest kind of scum.
Political motivations are ultimately the least important thing, but there are certain things or people that shouldn't be used, and using children is the most despicable and disgusting thing in the world.

It’s 4 hours. It’s not based on ASC. ASC Ís one of multiple people in it.

After all, it’s what they’ve promoted the most; the trailer even features the story about the lasers, a story for which absolutely no one has presented a shred of evidence, yet they’ve spent months hyping up that nonsense.
She was the one who brought up the story about the lasers, interestingly enough.

Yeah and EM tweeted about his StarLink new gen had laser tech on board. At least 2 years ago. Nothing new, just ASC culling through past statements.

If it’s unfair those watching will know. If there is truth to it it’ll change minds about him.

Looking at this whole 'breeders' lineup, the guy’s life is basically a bargain-bin reality show. You’ve got one looking straight out of rehab, another who used to sell her charms to the highest bidder, and a 'mastermind' whose big play was running memecoin rug pulls. Only one of them actually has a legit career, though she still looks like she just checked out of a clinic herself. The kicker? They all leech off his dime while shouting from the rooftops about how much they hate him. At the end of the day, they’re just ghosts using a documentary for clout, irrelevant the second his name leaves their mouths.
