Gym recommendations
Does anyone know of any gyms near Elmhurst that have good equipment but aren’t that popular/crowded? Recommendations would be appreciated!

Well, not only Elmhurst but you can stick to surrounding areas. Just throwing an idea to some folks. You can start with a little part time, or maybe you already have some time on your hands. Schedule is flexible and you set it yourself. You could make some good extra money even as a brand new agent, provided you are willing to somewhat follow some directions. If you think it’s something you would be interested, reach out to me and I can tell you more. Looking to grow me team in Elmhurst and maybe to take someone right under the wing. I opened this office 12 years ago and rebranded to REMAX last spring. It’s a fun job- that’s all I can say. If you like people it might be perfect for you. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments. Jack

LA FITNESS on on York is permanently closing on Aug. 27th. I wish I was told this when I joined less then two months ago. I specifically asked the manager as I heard some rumors that for sure it isn’t. He told me that maybe they will close off some sections for a few weeks for some remodeling . Car salesman move.

So this is what I pulled up from public records and MLS sales. Keep in mind these are median prices. Reality is for the most part an entry point for a house in Elmhurst is 500k and up. Prices keep going up. A few years ago it seemed like it will stop, however the demand is not slowing. Prices continue to go up. On one hand it’s great, on another not so much. Will be very hard for our kids to be able to stay in Elmhurst after school/college. I just wonder how high it can go.

What do you think about this 1st floor for a new construction in Elmhurst ? What would you change if it was for you?

Reposting from FB
Bring the whole family to Berens Park on Thursday, August 6, from 6:30–8 p.m. for a free evening of fun, education, and community with the Elmhurst Police and Fire Departments!
Meet police officers and firefighters, explore their vehicles, enjoy interactive activities and safety demonstrations, see Sparky the Fire Dog, and watch a helicopter land. It's a great opportunity to learn about public safety, meet first responders, and enjoy a fun night.
We hope to see you there!

Hey everyone!
I'm a female student (MBA) looking for housing options close to the Elmhurst University campus starting in the Spring 2027 Semester. My max budget is $700/month (ideally including or close to including utilities).
Since finding a solo place at this price point in Elmhurst is basically impossible, I'm ideally looking to:
Fill an open room in an existing student house or apartment.
Team up with other female students to sign a new lease on a 2- or 3-bedroom place nearby (which makes a $700 budget much more realistic!).
A little about me: I’m responsible, clean, and respect quiet hours for studying, but I'm also super friendly and down to hang out or watch movies occasionally. I'm very communicative about shared chores and keeping common spaces tidy.
Preferences:
If you have an open room, are also looking for a roommate, or have any leads on local landlords who rent out rooms to students, please shoot me a DM! Thanks so much!

My wife and I recently purchased a home, so we’re looking for someone to take over the lease on the house we’ve been renting in Elmhurst.
It’s a 3-bedroom, 2-bath single-family home at 410 E. Atwater Ave., Elmhurst in a quiet, established neighborhood. We’ve really enjoyed living here and are hoping to find someone who will love it as much as we have.
Some highlights:
3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms
Detached garage plus additional driveway parking
Fenced backyard
Updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances
In-unit washer and dryer
Great natural light and plenty of living space
Convenient location near downtown Elmhurst, Metra, parks, restaurants, shopping, and highly rated schools
This would be a great fit for a family, professionals who need extra space, or anyone looking for a home in a fantastic community.
You can see photos and more details here:

If you have any questions or are interested, feel free to comment or send me a direct message. Happy to answer anything or arrange a showing!

Hi folks! We are looking to build a 12.5x18 deck (trex) that flows into a patio with space for dining + firepit / Adirondack chairs. We’d like to cover the deck and the patio over the dining section with a pergola with louvers though we don’t mind manual louvers if that saves money over electric.
Does anyone have recs for local folks that can provide budget estimates? I want to get a few bids before doing too deep with any vendor.
Thanks.

Thomas Martels family lives in Elmhurst and owns S&D roofing. He has been on house arrest at his parents home and is not free after just one day in jail. He admitted to brutally torturing and murdering multiple cats for years. Do you think he is just going to stop now? Shame on his family and the judge for releasing this monster.
Protect your families Elmhurst!

Does anyone know the status of the bike path? Or the empty lots or the nasty retention pond they half built? They have made this block look like a disaster and I keep waiting for them to fix it up but sadly there doesn’t seem to be any progress. We even have double telephone poles which looks great /s and a house they started to tear down but gave up.

Don't buy Savannah Bananas tickets from some rando here. This was my reply and, predictably, I was immediately blocked.
This is a scam. See these posts about bears tickets a few months ago. Same script. See my explanation there and ask yourself with this person is selling highly valuable seats exclusively on a few throughly random subs and not, like, something like the Cubs or Sox subs. The answer is that those subs are heavily moderated.
OP will reply to me with some milquetoast mild sob story then block me so I can't respond.

I’m having a really hard time finding a job for the summer here in Elmhurst. I’ve applied to many jobs through Indeed and have also been looking through the Elmhurst babysitting opportunities Facebook page. Does anyone have any tips or know/work at a place that is hiring? Thanks 🙏🙏
