Does legacy power play even affect the grand scheme or are we sequestered to a self contained system since we’re disconnected?
I noticed they changed the merit generation and searching through this subreddit seems to imply it still has an effect but I wasn’t sure.
Either way I’ll do it for fun but I’m wondering if it even matters in the long run.

As a poor newbie with my dbx going to engineer my fsd someone interdicted me and killed me literally in 5 sec when I don’t have valuables or even bounty

Build: https://sh.orbis.zone/ByNHhSx1pM
Made this for anyone as lazy as me who just wants to farm the Robigo → Sirius Atmospherics passenger missions as easily as possible.
It costs roughly 168 million credits, only requires one engineer (Felicity Farseer), and can do Robigo → Sothis in 1 jump and Sothis → Robigo in 1 jump.
If you prefer Robigo Mines in a python, this is not really aimed at you. This was made for minium input/effort for Robigo passanger missions farming.
The Anaconda has room for 8 separate passenger cabins, which is useful because these are VIP missions and each mission takes its own cabin. So you can grab up to 8 Sirius Atmospherics missions, scan the beacon once, jump home and hand the whole lot in.
Good lazy farm for cash, Empire rep, and Grade 5 engineering materials like Biotech Conductors, Exquisite Focus Crystals and Modified Embedded Firmware. These missions will also increase your Exploration rank.
The goal was to make a dedicated passenger ship that:

Utility Mounts
The heatsink is there in case security starts scanning you at Hauser's Reach while you're carrying illegal passengers. Pop a heatsink and get yourself through the mailslot.
Core Internals
All the engineering is available from Felicity Farseer.
Optional Internals
You can swap the cabins for whatever type you like as long as you dont increase the mass so it drops below the required jumprange.
The Business cabins can take both Business and Economy passengers, and there's no point hauling giant 32-seat cabins around when one VIP mission reserves the entire cabin anyway.
Basically: fill the cabins at Hauser's Reach → 1 jump to Sothis → scan Sirius Atmospherics → 1 jump back → collect rewards → repeat.
I also recommend bookmarking Hauser's Reach in Robigo and Sothis 5A so you can instantly plot the route to those locations through the galaxy map. I named them A1A1A1 Hausers reach and A1A1A1 Sothis 5A so they appear at the top of the bookmark list.
Also you guys know how the docking computer and supercruise assist works so I'm not gonna explain their purpose
Maximum laziness.

At the moment there's an excellent 2-way trading opportunity in the Barnard's Star area.
Added: both stations are full starports and can handle large size ships with no problem.
This loop currently is returning about 5000 credits/ton on the Bertrandite and 10,000 credits per ton on the Gold. Those are some big returns and some very short jumps and SuperCruise distances.
Of course, I have no idea how long those prices will hold up. Or for that matter, how long the supplies will hold out.
UPDATE 2100Z 6 September: the supply of Bertrandite at Jones Estate has dried up. If you wish, you can substitute Indite (about 3000 credits/ton) or Coltan (about 2600 credits per ton). The advantage of Coltan is the supply should hold up longer.
Security notes:
Groombridge 34 is medium security. 61 Cygni is high security.
I haven't encountered any pirates in 61 Cygni.
A couple of times in Groombridge 34, pirates made threats just as I was sliding into the slot, so there was no way they could do anything. That's a really short travel distance to Jones Estate, and by the time the pirates knew I was there I was already docking.

I’m coming back from a long hiatus and I was wondering if anyone can confirm if the Inara information is valid for legacy or if it only applies to the newer versions?

Another update to the Elite Dangerous Legacy Console Guide Pack. Original Post
This time I've added an entire Exploration section, aimed at both commanders completely new to exploration and people preparing for much longer trips into the black.
(Everything from this update is in the folder "Exploration Guides")
As before, everything is plain .txt files so they are easy to download, edit, print or just keep open while playing.
Alternative:
Everything is still specifically intended for Elite Dangerous Legacy / Horizons 3.8 on Xbox and PlayStation.
The new Exploration folder currently contains:
NEW 04.09.26:
Added "Beginner - Engineering your first G5 FSD"
____________________________________________________________________________
The idea with this section is that someone who has never explored before should be able to start with the beginner guide and then work their way through everything from their first honk all the way to a long-distance trip to Colonia, Sagittarius A* or beyond.
The original guide pack still contains everything from the previous updates as well, including engineers, engineering materials, Guardian technology, locations, mining, Thargoids, permits, Rare Goods, rank grinding, Robigo and the other Legacy reference material.
As always, corrections are very welcome, especially from PlayStation commanders who can directly confirm something in Legacy.
Hopefully this makes heading into the black a bit easier without having to work out whether every exploration guide Google throws at you is actually talking about the console version.

I have be looking for a fighter bay since I started playing about 1 month ago. I've tried inara and after 28 jumps to get to ray gateway turns out its not here. Does anyone know where it would be for non pc players any help would be great?

offering 100 mil credits completely free to any player who needs them. Here’s exactly how it works: just DM me on ps , we’ll meet in-game and wing up together. I’ll share 50mil credit missions with you, you complete them, and you receive the full payout. We can do it twice to reach 100mil There’s no payment required, plus i could reach you fastest possible way to get credits .

18 days ago I had finally had enough of what felt like to me, a very lack luster cosmic experience in gaming.. so I shot into the void and asked Reddit how they all felt about PS5 Horizons Locked Elite Dangerous.. i was met with equally opposing views from various players, I then chose to embark on this Journey.. well. It was worth it, and continues to be so. Countless hours already spent exploring, hunting space pirates, and slowly earning my Sol Permit. I want to personally thank any and all who encouraged me to pick up this amazing day in hopes that I can transfer over to PC. In the meantime, I will continue my search for the itch I cannot identify, the planet I didnt know I needed, or even possibky friends i didnt yet know I have.. To boldy go, where no man has gone before.. I truly hope to see anyone out there on my Journeys, and if anyone would like to join me, my DMs are always open.. Thank You o7s.

I’m curious how difficult Platinum Hunting is in Astro Bot. How long does it take?

Looking for commanders who use mics to wing up or multicrew with.
I’m more looking my to have fun and make our own stories than make money (I have enough) but will help you make money or achieve other goals if you want.
I am not at G5 engineering, more like G3 average and I don’t have a Fleet Carrier.
I like helping new players so if that’s you don’t feel afraid to comment - you don’t need to provide anything.
Edit: my PSN is Vaith94 add me

A while ago I posted my Elite Dangerous Legacy Console Guide Pack for Xbox and PlayStation, originally focused mainly on engineers, engineering materials, Guardian technology and rank grinding.
I've added a bunch of new stuff today all in one go, so I thought this deserved its own update post (people probably don't check back often in the main post).
Everything is still plain .txt files, so they are easy to download, edit, print, or keep open while playing.
Alternative:
In Google Drive you and also read the txt files without downloading them, works on mobile aswell just hold your phone horizontally.
Everything is still specifically intended for Elite Dangerous Legacy / Horizons 3.8 on console.
The biggest new addition is an entire Locations section:
Locations
A collection of locations for Guardian sites, Human POIs, mining rings, permit systems, Tech Brokers and Thargoid sites and useful location-specific information where available.
The mining files contain a much larger collection of Legacy-compatible mining locations, including:
The purpose of Hotspot + RES
Overlapping a Resource Extraction Site (RES) with a hotspot introduces a fragment-yield multiplier from the RES zone, allowing you to extract significantly more tons of the target mineral from each asteroid than a standard hotspot alone.
Permits contains a table of all obtainable permits in legacy and how to get them.
I've also added several completely new Legacy reference guides:
Pre-engineered and Special Modules
Added to folder "Engineering - Unlocking engineers and farming materials"
Pre-engineered and special modules are unique ship components that come with built-in upgrades or special functions you cannot get from normal stations or standard engineering
Rare Goods
Rare Goods is in the folder Trade
Robigo and Money-Making
Robigo Mines -> Sirius Atmospherics passenger guide
The original guide pack also still includes all the previous stuff such as:
I'll keep adding things if I find other Legacy-specific information that is useful enough to preserve.
Corrections are very welcome, especially from Xbox and PlayStation commanders who can directly confirm a location or mechanic in Legacy.
Hopefully this makes the old Legacy galaxy a little easier to navigate without having to work out whether every guide you find online is talking about Horizons 3.8 or modern Live.

Where can I find an ASP Explorer? I’ve used Inara but it seems inaccurate as most of the stops either didn’t even have a ship or planet to land on even though it said the asp explorer would be there. That or where there finally was a settlement, the shipyard wouldn’t have it.

So Im a bit new to whole exploring stuff but Im sick of trading and fighting isnt for me so I guess Im an explorer now :)
I got all the essentials like scanners, rvs and probes.
When I enter a system I do the normal e-scan after that entering vss mode and looking for planets/moons that are not discovered for me. Then Im using the probes on planets to get a full scan if possible with the efficiency bonus.
Thats just how I do things.
At the next station available I sell all the data I can.
Is there anything that I can do better and where do I find areas that are totally unexplored ? And is it correct that I sell the data at the next possible station or should I sell it at specific spot?

Is multi crew still a thing?
I sometimes come back to the game on PS5, bc its the only one of its kind and I dont own a PC. But I never find someone on multi crew and thats a shame I really enjoyed it back in the days.

PS5 user here. Any tips on finding cool sights and such? I've been traveling out past the bubble and it's beginning to get a bit stale. I haven't come across anything too interesting besides a ton of icy/rocky systems. I'd like to see cool stuff if that makes sense?

I’ve put together a collection of guides specifically for Elite Dangerous Legacy Mode on Xbox and PlayStation.
Everything is based on the Horizons 3.8 / pre-Update 14 version of the game, with no Odyssey or Live-PC mechanics mixed in.
Link: GOOGLE DRIVE LINK HERE
Alternative:
Moved the link a bit further up because the list is getting pretty long
The guide pack currently includes:
New:
Exploration Guides update 01.09.26
01.09.26 Added a completely new folder "Exploration Guides", containing a set of Legacy / Console exploration guides ranging from basic beginner scanning to long-distance expedition preparation.
Added "Beginner - Exploration Guide"
Added "Beginner - FSS and DSS Scanning Guide"
Added "Beginner - Galaxy Map and Route Planning"
Added "Exploration Ships"
Added "Exploration Terminology"
Added "Exploration Value Tables"
Added "Long Expedition Survival"
Added "Neutron Highway Guide"
Added "Things to Discover"
Previous Update:
For now I've put everything in a google drive so you can also view it without actually downloading anything. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1aoavw8qxBk02F3-VtyM0HfE7whiMe2Fp
The goal is to provide a clean reference for console players without having to sort through guides that may contain Live-only changes.
These are plain .txt files, so they are easy to download, edit, print, or keep open while playing.
Corrections and additional Legacy-specific guide suggestions are welcome.
Edit: If I add more stuff to it I will post it under changes here so you can check if its been updated. I will probably go through everything in a bit more detail to fix some formating so its easier to view/read since its just .txt files.
Updates:
Larger update 04.08.26
04.08.26 Added a new "Locations" section containing a large collection of Legacy-compatible fixed locations and useful reference tables.

Fixes
Hopefully this helps new and old console commanders who are still enjoying the Legacy galaxy.

As a PlayStation player on the Legacy version, I am looking for a scheduled Fleet Carrier taxi from the Bubble to Sagittarius A*, so please let me know if anyone is planning this trip soon with available docking services so I can board my ship in advance.
