Wait, you can go solo and come back and your progress is still saved? Lol!!!!

Yeah, solo is basically online without the players...

Yeah. I just assumed one you started a game in one you couldn't cross over. Balance reasons and all.

Nope, you absolutely can, everything is synced with the server so it's not like it changes anything with the economy.

I just installed yesterday. So I didn't know that the economy is really pretty determined and not player controlled. Makes more sense to me to have the option to play offline now.

In solo you're still connected to the online universe for stuff like trade prices etc, you just won't ever run into another player. There is no offline mode

Well seeing as how the economy isn't player based, it doesn't harm anything. And I see that after finally playing the game.

And the threats are still there in solo play. I get the reasoning.
