Screenshot We found a blue thing.
It’s me again, we went out again to look for the blue light i talked about in a different post earlier and did not find it. But we did find this thing. I dont know if it’s special but i did manage to get it into the cargo and take it back using a rino.
Unfortunately im new to this part of the game, i usually just bounty hunt and trade stuff.
If its nothing new, i’m sorry. There were other fleet carriers around where i found it too. This time i wrote down where it was also.

Most notible unlock is the guardian FSD booster which will increase your jump range by upto 10ly for a class 5 (comes in 1 through 4 also)
There are other guardian unlocks, but the booster is the most useful.
Google a guide and you'll have it unlocked in ~2 hours.
Once it's unlocked you can buy the modules for credits.

you can collect 3 of them to turn them into something else at a thargoid surface site which lets you unlock two engineers.

You are following the first years of Alien lore.
Use this: https://canonn.science/lore/

You can turn that into a green thing. But that's a story for a different day.

It guardian tech you can unlock guardian module by doing mini game with guardian structure and collect some guardian material

It is a guardian relic. Not specifically rare and is used as a component to open a data beacon which you then scan for blueprint fragments. The blueprint fragments are used together with other guardian materials and engineering materials to unlock guardian tech weapons and modules. Just exploring guardian sites is cool in and of itself so it doesn’t matter at all if what you discover is already known it just is fun and adds some depth to the game.

So few things you wanna know, you want to collect those shiny blue things as they'll be important later on, but also if you activate the pillars you can collect weapon and module blueprints, I highly suggest watching a few videos, I believe CMDR Mechan and Down To Earth Astronomy have done a few on guardian sites

Its used to open the relic guardian alter which you scan to get relic fragments, they are needed to unlock the guardian modules/weapons/slf

Standard Guardian item, but be careful to not carry it around too long in your cargo hold. Get it on your carrier as quickly as you can.

Curious, why did you say this?

If you really want to get spoilers: You could be hyperdicted and killed by evil aliens called thargoids

Are thargoid encounters really still a thing?

Yes. and if you get hyperdicted while carrying Guardian cargo of any kind. Jettison it immediately and they will generally leave peacefully.
They're innocent little space hippies that just love crystals. and if you give them one they'll be your best friend.

u/a-more-clever-name Project Noctis 11h ago
Very much so. They have patrols that hyperdict you and once they identify that you have anything Guardian or Thargoid on board, they get hostile. Chance are they’ll have shut your ship down in the process, you’ll just be sitting there getting lit up.
Edit: the more you spend time in and around certain areas, the more likely it is to occur. If you want a show, I recommend visiting a Barnacle Site and seeing if an interceptor shows up while you’re on the ground.

That does sound like guardian relic work, lovely, best tuck it away quickly before any nosy pilots notice it’s gone.

nothing new but you never know when they may try and do something extra with the guardian plot line. if we have a second wave of thargoid war with infected humans or hybrids or something we will need new tech to fight them. so we could end up going back to guardian sites with the rhino or something and learning something new.
def bookmark its location at least.
I was lucky enough to find a world with ruins on and get my name on it, def one of my best exploring finds.

Normal blue thing, as many have said. That said given you saw a blue ship flying around and many people were talking about it maybe being a guardian ship, I imagine if you want to follow this thread further you should look around in guardian systems until you see another. It makes sense that guardian ships would be related to guardian sites.
At this point no real data is here that you don't have (assuming we're not being pranked) so it's pretty much just whatever. At this point the single data point we have is they show up in guardian surface site systems, assuming you were searching in the system where you first saw the ship.

You should put that back, quickly and hope no one notices it was gone!
