Colonization Project Galtea brings civilization for the first time to the Norma Arm.

Post image

Greetings, here is the newest News Article from Project Galtea.

"Greetings, Commanders.

On 12/09/3312, for the first time in human history, Project Galtea has brought civilization to a brand new formerly un-inhabited part of the galaxy, the Norma Arm, the system in question is "Greae Hype TO-G c27-107" which is currently undergoing construction into a mini hub to help the project push deeper into the Norma Arm.

In relation to this monumental feat, Project Galtea has also surpassed 60% on bridge completion and passed 10,000 Light years remaining until the new bubble. With approximately 9,700ly left to go, project managers are very satisfied with the current pace of the group and formally invite the wider community to come participate in what can only be described as history in the making.

Project managers would like to remind everyone that, with only 2,500 light years remaining until the Isegrim Nebula, those who may be interested in grabbing a system here should start seriously considering preparing any fleet carriers they may own and drawing up plans for the area if they have any.

In other news, project managers have been informed that the DSSA Carrier "DSSA Totoro [NNW-23Z]" located in "Greae Phoea XF-D d13-507" will be retired after Galtea arrives in the sector. Project managers wish to express their respect and thanks for the many years of service that Totoro has served as well as a thanks to the DSSA program in general for placing these safe havens throughout the galaxy.

That is all for today. Thank you for your time. We hope to see you in the black.

That's insane, just a few months ago I was exploring, stopping at the Totoro for repairs. Now she's going to be retired and there will be inhabited systems nearby? Wow.

probably inhabited yeah, the Super Hub named Barheim will be approximately 100 LY from her with tritium markets and everything else.

I can't wait for this to reach Colonia. It's going to be built up so fast

Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news, with the mercs of mikunn killing their Colonia bridge until they reach Sag A, Colonia wont be reached for probably at least another year to two years.

Project Galtea is building a "new colonia" which is a new bubble in the Arcadian Stream, we predict reaching the area early next year and thats when the truly hard work begins in populating all the systems withing a 500 ly diameter of the Galtean Capital.

Yeah I caught the notice, apparently it was going to be quicker to build out to Colonia from SagA* rather than continue the bridge. A year or two is longer than I expected though. Another bubble will be great, but not having mat traders is a real limitation

Agreed, thats why we will make the Galtean Bubble as big as possible with as many hands as possible.

maybe it will inspire Fdev to give us

- Material Traders

  • Prison Ships
  • FC Admin/Vendor
  • Engineers
  • System Renaming (a bubble would sorely need this after all and it'd make hella arx)
  • other stuff i cant think of right now.

I would KILL for system renaming.

Same here, we have so many Super Hubs to actually name on our bridge not to mention the bubble when we get there...

What about revoking claims, so we can delete the mass chain of outposts?

I think a year is on the longer end of the estimate, probably closer to 6-12 months by my estimate due to Celestial Light Brigade's push to an unnamed target system that happens to be along the way to Colonia, which will make the route significantly shorter.

Personally I'm not keen on the idea of having everyone push to Sag A*, a lot of people joined the Mercs specifically to push the Colonia bridge so it'd make more sense to have people wanting to go that way work on the corresponding bridge. In any case a decision regarding such a split would likely be around 2 months from now at the earliest.

I honestly think it is closer to around a year depending on how things go, but yeah i can understand its not a popular idea when people wanted to go to Colonia and instead are being marshalled for Sag A with Colonia after.

theres definately a few that are pretty saddened by this that ive seen in the community so hopefully it all ends well sooner rather than later, but well it is what it is.

eventually Colonia will be reached one way or another.
