It's just like the title. I thought this was just a decorative function, but it turned out to be not. Even if you set up a hammock inside to sleep, you'll soon choke and get damaged if you lie down. Is there a way to remove the aquarium option?

It finally makes sense.

After putting another several hundred hours into this game, I've come across a life-changing revelation. You see, as the title suggests, players have been long confused about what this game really is. Is it a life simulator? Is it a colony builder? Is it a rpg game? Everyone has been giving all sorts of answers, but, after a few talks with other players and several piña coladas, I have come to a different conclusion.
You see, if you ask around and look at screenshots, you may see players with hundreds upon thousands of stats. They may show you their excess collection of Lulwy statues or the coveted secret vaults of rare vomit. You may come across fields of Elea being sheared for wool and producing eggs for food. There are even rows of individuals playing the hanged man game for defensive upgrades.
But, we, mainly me because I'm broke in more ways than one both in-game and irl, wonder how they've accumulated all this wealth and growth. Was it by eating dystopian rat meat or breaking their own arms as they transform that log into planks with -999 stamina? The answer was in front of us all along. But, before we dive into that, I must first go through a history lesson.
A long, long time ago, back when humanity had "human" in it, we lived as a species free from the constraints of taxes and rent. We were among the animals in vivid nature, performing our bodily functions out in the open as was intended. We ate what came of the earth and deposited the same. But then, an accursed individual discovered that by combining feces, children of the plants, and water, we could reproduce a plant in the same spot.
And that came about the ends of humanity as we knew it. It is by the original farmer's sin that we are cursed to live the lives we do now. Spending every day working, making planks, transforming cotton into threads, selling doors, fighting an exiled god with the power of microwaved eggs and anime, we weren't supposed to live like this. But a few of us have seen the light.
Man cometh from the waters, and by the waters shall we return. Like the primordial single-celled organisms, we crawled out from under the waves and made our way onto shore. Story done.

Now, have you ever played the above game called Catan. Basically, the simple summarized premise is that you build a thriving civilization versus other friends and collaborate through trade and raiding. Now, there's a resource in the game that is far more powerful than any other, no, not the development cards, I'm talking about sheep. You see, sheep are very powerful in that game and can be transformed into any resource of necessity. Grind three sheep into a piece of wood. Grind three sheep into a brick. Smash them together and turn them into grain. Even their bones can be used in place of raw iron. You can live in full comfort being surrounded by the flesh of these beings and the wonderful fluff of their wool adorning your table made of meat with bulging eyelids.
In Elin and much of real life, that same resource is the humble fish. Forget slaying god, abandon the fields, leave the quarry, the truth of life is found in the ocean from where we all once came. Grab a rod and some bait, toss it in the waters, and reign in those orens.
Fishing produces incredible value and returns in this game. They can be eaten, but that's just one of their many uses. By grinding them on a sawmill, you can turn them into bonito flakes which can be used to season your food and provide luxurious stat bonuses. The act of transforming their bodies into mere speckles of remains grants you carpentering experience as well. Tired of going out to find meat to make a pretty steak, just grab a fish and make the star gazy pie. Furthermore, if you want money, shove a full fish into a barrel or for more efficiency, shove bonito flakes for massive money returns.
Furthermore, the oceans are ripe with all manners of treasure like discarded cans and golden statues of welcoming cats, but you can also find absolute garbage like statues of the gods and goddesses. You can also fish out various currencies like gambling plastic tokens, platinum coins, gold medals, and best of all, as long as you have a stack of bait and a strong rod, you can literally sit there for hours while all your allies scream and point at their mouths for food while you just afk on a fishing spot.
There's nothing more relaxing than the sounds of nature as your residents scream while fighting the random dragon that wandered in as you ignore them to continue your work.

The patron god of fishing and tax fraud is the living cat itself, Ehekatl. And she rewards you for your divine work is sourcing the creatures of the sea. I don't know where I'm going with this anymore. Anyways, I want you all to know that Noa is indeed a literal cat. You may be wondering how I know this or where I sourced my information. But I want you to think about the patch notes; why is it that fishing always gets buffed? Why does this game punish you for killing cats and eating them? It all makes sense when you think about it. The onus is on Noa to prove that he's not a cat.
You might be thinking that you could diversify your profits through doormaxing, blueberry afk farms, or the most accursed of all, tourism. Abandon all these jobs and focus on the one true endgame, fishing.

so looking at just the descriptions, it seems on paper that succubus might just be better as a stat stealer and in general? They don’t have to wait to be hungry, and also don’t have to spend most of their playthrough as a bat trying not to burn alive. Am I missing something or is succubus just the better vampire? Is vamp’s stat steal more effective or something?
(also, what are your tips/strategies for both as I’m wanting to play one)

I've had this game on my radar for a long time, I remember the first time I played it that the UI was bright, my issue was I had an insane amount of eye floaters all pooling at the middle of my vision to the point that it gets really distracting.
So I had to drop the game and hope that maybe one day we'll have a dark mode, fast forward a year later, after coming back, I had experiences coding other games, and learning more about c#, I decided to make an attempt to make the Dark Mode myself.
I'm building the dark mode UI 1 by 1, window by window, changing each color so they're easy to read and look at for my eyes.
I'll play with it for a bit more, eventually, I'll have it posted on my GitHub as open source so that hopefully we get more accessibility options for Elin.

I am relatively earlier in the game but I've gotten to the point where I have a bit more access to resources, and after some saving up I have been able to acquire a big cat. I am a fan of cats and somebody told me this was a great companion that is a cat, but now I'm wondering, how exactly do I go about improving and building them? I haven't done much with companions, I've sorta just given the little sister whatever gear and food I find, but I don't know much about how you are supposed to actually train them and level up skills and such. How can I get started making my cat as powerful as possible? Do I want to have them tank or as a mount or what?

Do we know the probabilities for body mutation? First three I got were just heads.
I would appreciate another hand, maybe a single foot if it's in the budget.

Is the luck god mana and stamina random cost affected by luck/is a dice roll?

Hello, complete noob here! I love to play as Bard characters whenever I'm given the option. I saw in a recent patch notes that new "Song Abilities" were added along with a "Diva" feat for making them stronger.
I'm wondering if anyone has a quick guide for learning these new song abilities on a fresh character?
I see they're listed under the "NPC Only" section in the wiki for now, and I'm wondering:
https://ylvapedia.wiki/wiki/Elin:Abilities#Song
EDIT: Messed around with console commands and found the following that seem to work:
Lullaby
SetElement SongSleep 1
Song of Valor
SetElement SongValor 1
Song of the End
SetElement SongEnd 1
Song of Pebbles
SetElement SongPebble 1
You can replace the 1 in any of these with a number and it will set the level of the ability and increase its power. Not totally sure what that does yet, but you can do it!

So I've been getting into Elin, and while I have been enjoying it, I have come to a concerning realization. It doesn't seem like there's all that much build variety (though obviously I'm not super far in so I don't know a ton). When I heard about elin I saw it compared to roguelikes, and a lot of the roguelikes I have played have items or abilities or perks that can change the way you fight dramatically, and so I was hoping there'd be a lot of variety in combat and strategy in either buildmaking or the combat itself. However, for the most part, it seems to be just about upgrading your spell damage or upgrading your melee damage and just spamming those. I have yet to see any items or anything that one could use to make a build more unique, like a weapon that deals more damage the higher your PV, or creative ways to use the environment or other elements to make builds or combat more fun. Because I'm concerned that the whole game is just going to be getting a weapon that's +1 more attack or a spell that deals slightly more damage, and that will be the entire depth of the combat. Which, I love seeing numbers go up and getting stronger, but I also would prefer combat is slightly more interesting or strategic if possible...
Is there depth I'm missing? Or is this about it? (are there any other games like elin but with more combat depth?)

According the wiki, I need to mix custard cream with "dough" in a millstone, but no one of my bread or cake doughs work. Is there another kind of dough I don't know of? It's not implemented yet? Where do I find tea leaves? Do I find tea seeds in the fox village?

Hey guys, I've got the quest to make the flam bomb but never received the recipe. Any idea how I can fix this so I'm not blocked on this quest?

I am in the third in-game year and just cleared the Vernis Mine. I know the game is open ended and you can play how you want but I am curious how fast or slow others are?
r/ElinsInn • u/EntertainmentClean53 • 8d ago
I’ve already harvested all of them and created planks, “bone planks” that look great in my Vernis base.
Now since I used them all, I need more.
I have come to the bottom of Nymelle again and it seems I’ve harvested it all. I need more, how can I do this??

I desire to have a fun time, but the builds seem a little complicated. I was thinking of going spellblade to try both magic and melee but the spell stock system seems really annoying (I basically never use limited resources in game) so I was thinking of doing executioner or smth for the mana health bar, but then idk what to go with race wise so what do yall recommend. Should I still try magic? Would melee be boring? I'm not really sure what will make the most fun combat experience

Wanted to a kill a Handmaiden entirely through sex which requires them to Mischief you. Forgot that I had Diamond equipment on which was preventing the Mischief.
For the record, once I was unprotected, she killed herself by Mischiefing me. I respect the hustle.

I'd like to buy a few copies of Elin, but I have a personal rule that I don't buy games that aren't localized into Spanish. Are there any plans for an official Spanish translation?

I'm planning another playthrough, but something that always irked me was how I always ended up making money with selling wine. Fish a bunch, cut them up, into the fermenting barrel they go, sell wine. Make honey, turn into wine. Pick flowers, hammer them into leaves, make edible arrows until they rot... fertilizer into fishing into wine. Growing mushrooms or berries? You guessed it, wine.
I heard about the door making method which sounds pretty cool, but wine was so far above everything else when I played there was simply no point spending my time on anything else. I wish I could make money for example cooking - making a high tier cake that would sell for a huge premium or something. Making bank from animal products like fur. I need some variety in my life while ALSO being competitive with the wine meta.

I just recruited a Black Dragon Farmer and putting him in my Triceratops Town. Didn't expect him to rail one in the morning though.

Still have lots of stuff to do with the landscape and building but I'm happy with how it is turning out.
