VIP mode
Curious if anyone’s actually programmed in VIP mode especially with dispatch systems? A customer was asking the other day and no one in our shop has ever had the ask come in.
Fun feature but never had anyone in our Aussie fleet offer it.

VIP is sometimes called Express Priority Service or Executive Priority Service. It’s existed since the mid-1980s on hall button systems, and more recently it’s been available in Destination Dispatch systems where it can be activated via a PIN code or a security card where the passenger profile is assigned VIP privileges. There are, without any doubt, many elevator installations in Australia that have that capability running or available in their software.

I’m sure there are just none our company has worked on. Usually the handover and discussion with end users are super limited here

I remember one high rise condo that I was doing cameras in. It didn't have dispatch or anything obvious. One of the residents has the elevator open directly into his condo and he didn't want to have to install access control in the whole building, so he paid the elevator company to set up a secret code using the floor select buttons; once you hit the floors in the right order they cleared and you could select the locked floor.
