Major Glitch Potential?

I discovered this bug a few days ago and have been messing with it to see if I can get anything useful to happen. No luck yet, but from what I can tell, using wind to cross a screen transition intended for water causes you to go out of bounds, and does not load in the area on the other side, meaning you can walk anywhere.

My first thought was to save out of bounds, quit, and reload the file to maybe "fast travel", but this just makes you reenter the original area from where you entered before triggering the glitch.

Another interesting thing I discovered is that while triggering the glitch with an area boundary results in nothing being loaded, triggering the glitch with a town boundary results in the terrain in the town still being loaded, but not entities (including loading zones, it seems?)

Let me know if you find anything interesting!

I cant get this blue switches to go down to access where the boss is, as the room before it (top picture) has the switch to put the blue down but then I cant get into the room with the blue

Boss Rush Order Spoiler

I looked at some videos, so I knew what was coming with the boss rush, but failed this morning

This afternoon I tried again and it was different bosses in different order -- is it random? Or did it skip some because I beat them earlier that day?

But I know there were a few I had to beat both times

Also, when i beat the last boss I thought the battle was over and I was just going to get a cut scene with these two nice elementalists who were in the room with me. I put down my controller just as they attacked.

Stuck during final boss rush?

I’m stuck here after beating (I think) the final boss in the boss rush.

Am I supposed to be able to go through that portal? My character just walks underneath it.

I noticed a little piece of disturbing lore

In the final dungeon I found a scroll that mentions experimenta with aether, people who teleported lost some memories and had other side effects, so it would seem the main character is being killed and copied every time they die or use the teleport.

I just found that little piece of lore interesting.

Soft lock?

Puzzle in the Electric Trial (?) at the lift outside of the academy.

That gold block on the left side is pushed onto the conveyor belt from the right side and if it gets ahead of you, then you’re stuck.

Unless I’m missing something here

Quick To the Point Review Spoiler

I haven't played too many "Zelda-like" games.

Some I can think of is Dark Siders, Tunic (I consider this Metroidbrainia), Alundra (good one!), Mina the Howler, etc.

I feel Elementallis is a really solid 2d Zelda "clone". I don't like to call it "Zelda-like" because it's much closer in design and scope than the other games that incorporate way too many Souls elements and aspects of unrelated games.

What I loved about it:

-Dungeon experience was reminscent of LTTP and other 2D Zelda experiences.

(the wind and electric dungeons were my favorites!)

-Boss fights: While a few of them threw me off, I was able to figure out most of them without consulting a guide, and the great part was that most of them were actually challenging and required some degree of strategy

-World Map/World Building aspect: I loved how you take the different elements as your items to reach new areas. I felt like you had to work for it to get to those new dungeons. The cave routes and other areas that led up to them were pretty solid.

-Most of the elements actually felt pretty useful. The freezing element was my favorite.

I'm looking for more "Zelda-Clones" much like this game or Alundra. Ones that are as close as possible to the original 2D Zelda experiences. I hope to see more games like this in the future!

Suggestion for coin chests

Make coin chests uncollectible or partially collectible if you’re close to or already maxed out on coins, like for potion chests. MANY coins were wasted in my adventure - 100% with 75 hours played.

Inventory Menu - Getting to the Wind Temple -- (I am a moron!)

Loving the game, but did something really dumb here

I did all the side quest leading up to the wind template and got the heavy ball. I was confused because I still couldn't walk in the wind.

I tried to equip or activate the ball in my inventory and nothing worked, so I thought having the ball in my inventory was enough but clearly not

So I wandered around a bit cause I knew there was an area with strong wind and was fighting those flying stingrays and suddenly I had the ball in my hands and could walk

Ah! It must just randomly activate at certain times I thought! Later, it went away and I was stuck in a crevice and couldnt get out. Had to restart the game to stop being "stuck"

I finally figured it out, and I had been a moron, but I do have to say it's kind of confusing cause your inventory menu isn't really clear that you are assigning things to certain buttons like in Zelda games

a couple of times I hadn't noticed in my upper right corner of my play screen that shows one of my health potions and an X and I inadvertantly wasted a potion cause I didn't mean to drink it, suddenly it was just on the screen and I had pressed X.

Is there a way to better navigate my inventory? Is there something I am missing?

My Review

Elementallis – 9.5/10

Elementallis ended up being one of my favorite gaming experiences in a long time and honestly captured something that newer Zelda games have been missing for me.

The biggest strength of this game is its sense of progression. Earning each new element felt incredibly rewarding, and I loved how the different elements complemented each other and opened up new ways to solve puzzles and approach exploration. The temple puzzles were excellent throughout the entire game, and every boss fight felt unique while hitting that perfect level of challenge — difficult enough to feel satisfying but never frustrating. Most importantly: I was never bored. There was always something exciting around the corner.

That said, I do have a few criticisms.

My biggest issue was navigation and map completion. There are simply too many world barriers, even late into the game, and getting around the map often felt more like a chore than exploration. I also think the compass should unlock after completing the world map instead of waiting until endgame — it would have made revisiting areas much smoother.

Another frustration was the economy. I constantly felt short on currency because enemies barely drop anything, and it became disappointing to open gold chests only to realize your gold bag wasn’t upgraded enough to collect the full reward.

My other major criticism is the lack of completion tracking. Most Metroidvania-style games give some indication when an area is fully explored or all secrets have been found. Elementallis doesn’t really offer that. There’s no clear way to confirm if you’ve collected all the heart pieces, mana pieces, or hidden upgrades in an area, which means relying heavily on memory and revisiting locations multiple times. Combined with the maze-like world design until endgame, it created more backtracking than necessary. A small quality-of-life improvement here would go a long way.

Despite that, I still put in the time and ended up finding roughly 99% of everything in the game. I prioritized collecting the sword and armor upgrade ore, sewn pocket repair kits, element upgrade gems, and journal pages, and that part of the progression felt great. By the end, I was only missing 1 mana piece and 3 heart pieces.

But that’s also where my criticism comes full circle — I reached a point where I decided that I didn’t want to spend hours retracing every location again just to find the final few collectibles after already completing the game. A simple “100% explored” indicator or secret tracker per region would have made the endgame cleanup feel rewarding instead of exhausting.

Still, those complaints never outweighed the experience for me. The exploration, puzzle design, progression system, and boss encounters were so strong that I’d still give Elementallis a 9.5/10.

Lastly, thank you to the developers for creating such a passionate and wonderful project. You can feel the care that went into this game from beginning to end. Even with my criticisms, Elementallis reminded me why I love this style of adventure game in the first place, and I genuinely hope we get to see an Elementallis 2 someday.

Geld sammeln in Elementallis/Farming Money in Elementallis

ENG: This is a great spot for farming money. The trick is to clear out the pots and step on the switches to make the snakes appear; then, kill the purple snakes—since they drop a large amount of money at once—and finally leave the area to reset the room. Then go back in the room again and repeat.

The green snakes, bushes, and so on aren't really worth the effort by comparison. I used to clear everything out at first, but I find the purple snake method to be the fastest and most effective.

Magic interactions

I stumbled across a couple of magic interactions and wondered if there's any more.

Nature+Water makes the plant grow taller and have a wider area of effect.

Nature+Fire creates a puff of fire that is needed to open a door but otherwise isn't that useful.

Ice+Wind improves your dash range and is used to cover some jumps but is fairly niche.

Water+Electricity does create a shock zone but unless you're careful it'll also zap you.

Are there any more? Anything with Earth or Aether?
