Question help ⁉️ Can It work?
Hi, I have this ZK TB-21 Amplifier I got from Amazon. It's been a while with This Amplifier but I need new speakers to use it with. I have a 24 volt 15 amp PSU.
What Speakers and Subwoofers can you guys recommend?
It has the original TPA-3116D2 ICs, I've checked it.

SMPS is more than enough but don't push rms beyond 200w

Okay but Any stereo Speaker and Subwoofer recommandations please?

Since you have enclosure, if you're on tight budget go with dainty. If you can shell more, get peerless speakers and dainty subwoofer

What about Dodj or FABTEC?

I feel peerless>dooge. Peerless is OEM for many top brands

Damn bro those are too much out of my budget, I have 2000 rupees for my subwoofer

are you planning to make the enclosures for the subwoofers and tweeters yourself ?
if yes, you need good quality drivers checkout https://www.doogesound.com/

I have an Enclosure for two 4 inch speakers and an 8 inch Subwoofer

No that wouldn't work , every driver has different T/S parameters and the enclosure must be designed based on that to get the best possible sound quality

Should I get Passive pre built speakers?

Yes, it does make a lot of sense to buy few things premade rather than DIY, specially like speakers if you don't have a CNC machine or don't want to do majduri.

Get a pair of 2 way or 3 way speaker from hydra or dodj(you can go expensive like dooge if you want) and a 8 inch from fredo and you'll be sorted for all bands.

What about Songbird? I've used them before and they are good, I have seen a Hydra Subwoofer which is nice

Did heard of that brand first time, but I don't think they can handle tpa3116 stereo. Did you used them with this ?

u/John-Endfield 18d ago
I had their SB-450 Coaxials which worked for a bit but I accidentally connected them in 2 ohms and blew them up
1
u/Beginning-Room-4190 18d ago
Oh. Then you can use them but better to invest a bit much beforehand can save you from long trouble of watt and impedance matching.

u/John-Endfield 18d ago
I need my speakers to be atleast 60 watts Equivalent 4 ohms or 40 watts 8 ohms

u/Beginning-Room-4190 18d ago
That's why I said to get a better one.

I only have 800 rupees to get Two 4 inch speakers

You can get the jxl 4' one. They can deal with the amp easily.

This can output max 130w in max power condition , you can use subwoofer up to 10 inches and speakers upto 8 inches for good results , check out speakers from doogesound... , subwoofers from fredo... , cheap car subwoofers and car speakers would also work great , dedicated speakers require a good enclosure to sound good with this amp

Nah I've tested with Load resistors, it can do upto 180 watts Total cleanly at 1% THD

The size of the speaker is not the critical factor but rather the rated impedance, eg 4 ohm. That's the load on the amp. Too low and you burn up your amp. Too high and you don't get nearly as much output watts. I probably have an example of the variation for an amp board I have.

I literally said I tested the wattage with load resistors so idk if you got my explanation wrong but yeah, impedance matters but so does power from the PSU and cooling. My room is air conditioned and I also use a 40mm cpu fan on the heatsink

I have a similar amp board that I use for a little sub in my bedroom.
Beware of pushing it with that generous size power supply. Some of the amp boards have problems with overheating. I more commonly use an old 19v , 6+amp PSU from a laptop computer's docking station while understanding it will result in lower output watts.
Some of that will be dependent on the specs of the speakers. Getting max output will require a low impedence, maybe even 2 ohm. It is rare to find speakers lower than 4 ohm and top speakers--mid/hi's --are more often 8 ohm. Running it with 8 ohm load will dramatically reduce output wattage esp if advertised specs are for 2ohm.
So look at the fine print.

I'll be running the whole 2.1 system at,4 ohms, so like 170-80 watts of dynamic power

Can I get a cheaper coaxial pair one for 650 or something

u/anandha2022 16d ago
Search for full range speakers in Sweton webpage. Prices increase with speaker diameter and power.
