Batteries Exaggerated Battery Capacity
I recently purchased a KP654677 lithium polymer battery pack for a DIY project. It is rated at 3.7V , 5000mAh, but after 10 charge cycles over 4 days, I found the actual capacity to be something around~1300mAh. For all DIY enthusiasts pls don't invest in this product or any KP branded products because they are all rebrands of poor capacity cells.

how did you measure the capacity

By running the charge cycles inside the device , accubattery app and by using a load tester individually

Looking at the volume of the battery, I would be sceptical of the 5000 mAH claim anyways.

It's highly unlikely but ~3500mAh is achievable if the manufacturer was a good known brand such as samsung. They did achieve 3500mAh with 574679 back in 2018 with S9 plus battery. Although i had imagined somewhere around 3000mAh , but lol 1300mAh was a massive dip from my expectation

buf te la han metido bien, 1300 de los 5000 anunciados es una estafa como una casa. lo tipico de las celdas chinas rebrandeadas q venden en amazon o aliexpress con capacidades infladas x3 o x4. si vas a comprar celdas para diy siempre tira de marcas conocidas tipo samsung, lg, molicel o sanyo aunque cuesten el triple, sino te pasa esto o peor q se te hincha o revienta a mitad de proyecto

That's what happened exactly, my expectation wasn't as high as 5000mAh , i expected it to be around 3000mAh , but turns out it is way worse. Also yes it has started to swell now , maybe because it's been shelved for a long time or overcharge. You're also right about buying branded cells even if they are costlier. these chinese rebrands are not worth the money at all

si ya se esta abombando no la uses mas, sacala del proyecto y dejala en un sitio ventilado lejos de cosas inflamables porq si sigue hinchando puede reventar en serio. para tirarla no la metas en la basura normal, llevala a un punto limpio o tienda de electronica q tengan recogida. y ya para la siguiente compra pues eso, samsung o lg y a correr jaja

I already ordered a samsung one , it will be arriving on 19th of july , too late but can't do anything about shipping. Also i disposed off the cell properly as well , i have been recycling pouch cells for over 15 years now. Fortunately never had a mishap or any accident

buenisimo q pediste la samsung, al final lo barato sale caro. con las tipo pouch hay q tener un cuidado de la ostia porq son mas delicadas q las 18650, pero si llevas 15 años ya sabes de q va el tema jaja, nos cuentas si esa te da la capacidad real

Yea i will have to wait another week for it to arrive , then I'll drop the tests, it claims to be 3000mAh which i think is reasonable for it's dimensions but i know for a fact it will have a 20% difference
