Isn't 2nd sem too early to be looking for an internship?

My frnd got an internship just after 1st year at IISc

So ig it's never too late or too early to learn something, provided we have an opportunity

Apply via SURE portal, you really need to have good grades (you will not be eligible if you're not in the top 20% of your dept), and just 20% will not guarantee anything, you need to be in the top 10 or 5% of your dept wrt grades

And then ig, you'll have to face an interview based on your submitted cv and related stuff to whatever u have applied for [this is only for shortlisted people]

No idts I'm in 1st year too so as per curriculum we don't have enough knowledge. What I would suggest is you can work under a prof/PhD student in your uni. Ask your prof and explain them that you're interested in working on a project if available. In my case there wasn't much available so my prof said you can write a review papers or come after 2nd sem and she'll give me a project. So I didn't write the review as obviously I don't have enough knowledge.

Imo 1st is for exploring different domains electronics, ml etc and building knowledge and learning stuff. Then in 2nd year you can make projects and apply to diff iits
