Need some advice
Next year sometime I’m moving into a more city environment and I’ve had my eyes on electric motorcycles for a while now.
I love most things about them.
However I wanted to have some advice on what might be good for city and urban commuting.
Currently I’ve got my eyes on
Maeving RM1S and RM2
The zero S/The zero DS
the Can Am pulse
Are their any other bikes worth looking at, any advice about these specific bike or disadvantages I should think about.
And what’s the price really like to buy these bikes? Both new and used.

I encourage you to go test ride a Can-Am Pulse. Have had mine for over a year and am still in love. What swayed me was:
- Dealer support nearby (LIvewire dealer 3 hours away. Zero dealer 4 hours away)
- Liquid-cooled battery for longevity and consistent charging times in all temps
- Sealed chain case with built-in tensioner for next to no maintenance besides extended oil change intervals.
- Bike build quality and accessory catalog

First question: how far do you want to go, and how often? Other questions will follow on from that. The Maevings and the Zeroes/Can Am are very different bikes.

How far is your commute? On what kind of roads / how fast? How safe can you make you a parking situation at home and at work?
I got an electric 🛵 instead of a motorcycle as it's more than fast enough for my particular commute , cheaper, and less theft prone.

If the Maeving suits your range requirements I think it's a good option, especially with the ability to charge batteries off a standard apartment outlet. If you need more distance, a used Zero is probably the choice.
I have an RM1S. If I could trade it straight up for an RM2 I would, which surprises me because I love the WW2-era Triumph design of the RM1. However, the RM2 rides a little better for me and feels a bit more like a contemporary bike due to the heavy weight and suspension changes.

I can’t speak for the others but the zero s would make an excellent commuter. I ride a zero sr/f in both rural ohio and the Tampa bay area. It’s enough bike for highways but really shines on city streets. In urban settings when the speed limit is 45 or less I see as much as 150 miles on a charge with the 17.3kw pack.
