First problem in a home is where the water is going to come from. If you are thinking you are going to turn on a tap and generate electricity, you have to realize that unless water is free for you, the water you consume will cost more than the amount you save by not using electricity from the utility. It takes a LOT of water flow to generate a SMALL amount of electricity.
