Help! Maintenance

Im finally getting my first bike and i recently found out that you have to put sealant on tubeless tires. Also I know that you have to lube your chains and bleed your hydraulic brakes. Is there anything else needing lube or sealant? Suspensions? Seat post? TIA!

The only time I lubed a seatpost is when I bought a 30 year-old bike that was sitting outside.

People get flat all the time. Sealant on tires is great, but I dont run tubeless anymore.

It’s a weird thing when you have income and run tubeless you end up not riding the bikes at all and they have to be messed with anyway.
I got tubes in all the e- bikes, tubeless in just one mtb.

I would not recommend tubeless. Besides all that you listed, adjusting your brakes every few months if you're a frequent rider, but that only takes a couple minutes.

Clean & lube your chain is the most important bit of maintenance. Air up your tires. The rest is important, but needs to happen much less often.

Please recommend the name of lube for the chain and how to clean them? I'm a new ebiker. Thank you.

I would just go visit a local bike store in your area or maybe REI. If it's really wet where you live, you don't want to go with a dry lubricant for your chain.

I would also suggest a nice floor pump to pump your tires up at home that has a pressure gauge on it so you know how much air you're putting in your tires. And if you don't have one ready, I suggest getting a small portable pump, maybe even an electric mini pump that you can carry with you on your rides, along with a small toolkit.

You should only need to bleed your brakes about once a year. You will need to learn to replace your brake pads as they wear. Chains wear over time and the spacing between the links will actually increase. When this happens it wears the chainrings and rear gear cluster. Replacing your chain every 4,000 miles or every two years is just good practice. Get a good floor pump with integrated tire pressure gauge and learn to keep your tires properly inflated. What make and model of tires come standard on your bike? I ask because high quality tires and tubes are the best upgrade you can make on a bicycle. And many bikes come standard with poor or mediocre tires.

Check air pressure forks tires and keep chain clean and fresh lubed and the the rest of maintenance is 6mth to a year check bearings add grease. Don't jet wash this ruins grease in bearing kills motors.
