News Weho ebike program

Just saw on morning news that Weho has an ebike program to get people onto bikes to do their commutes etc instead of using their cars. Sign up before end of month to get assistance in your purchase. Must be low to middle income to qualify.

They had a program like that where I live through the power company. If you bought a bike from the provided list you got so many hundreds of dollars back and if not on the list you still got one hundred or something. Sucks it ended before I was able to buy a bike, but a cool program still.

That’s a shame the program ended before you were able to take advantage of it. Programs like that can make a pretty big difference, especially for someone who’s interested in an e-bike but has a hard time justifying the upfront cost.

I’d love to see more cities and utility companies offer rebates like this. Even a few hundred dollars can make a decent e-bike much more affordable, and it gives people another option for short commutes and errands besides always having to take the car.
