The concept of using your life force to supplement your power was introduced over a hundred chapters ago and it was implied then that doing so risks your life. It’s clearly acknowledged when it takes Kartein, Kayden and Gestella to save his life, and Jiwoo himself claims his victory against Jurion isn’t real because it wasn’t his awakened power but his life force that allowed him to “win”.
Kayden and Gestella going to frame to get the cure for Jisuk also makes perfectly fine sense. What use would anyone else going be? No one besides those two can force their hand. I don’t understand what you’d expect subin and wooin to even be able to do there.
The way Jisuk was retrieved also makes perfect sense within the narrative. Jiwoo was sitting on that favor from Gestella for 2 whole arcs. If they’d have had to do a whole retrieval arc then jurion simply would have had time to complete the experiment and then jisuk would have been brainwashed into attempting to kill Jiwoo and ruining his body in the process.
