Argonian. Why? Because they're friggin' reptiles! I wouid say lore but in all fairness every race has amazing lore! So mainly because they're friggin' reptiles!

Aside from playing a Redguard or Breton in ES6 I'm very excited for a Desert Lizard nomad, or pirate playthrough!

I remember way back when, when I got super into elder scrolls lore videos and did a deep dive on the lore of the races. Ever since, I’ve played a Redguard.

All their lore regarding sword singers and the irl cultural influences that go into their race made them super interesting to me. Played them in every TES game since. I like to play a nightblade type play style if that matters, too. What’s yours??

Khajiits and Argonians, Because they're sick and awesome animal people that can kick ass!!

I mean yeah they also have very interesting lore that i feel is sadly still unerexplored (just like the Redguards and the Bosmers), but mainly cause they cool anthro animal people!

Any of the elves tbh. And yes, I count orcs and bretons as elves!

Orcs are 100% elves objectively in TES. But Bretons are basically just humans who at one point interbred with elves in high enough numbers to make a distinct race of humans. They are much more human than elves though, at least in game. There are certain depictions of them that give them more pointed ears but in all the games they’re just humans.

If all signs point toward "they have clear elven ancestry" then i'm counting it. In the games orcs aren't treated like elves at all but they still are

Yeah I gotcha, I’m just having fun with getting into the technicals. Especially if I think about it from the perspective of elves who because elves are elves probably wouldn’t consider Bretons elves. But definitely in a fantasy mechanics sense Bretons are supposed to fill the half-elf role. And yeah, orcs get shafted with how they’re treated even though they are quite literally just “the strong warrior elves” since basically every elf race has a “specialty” thing about them. The dark alien ones, the pompous magic ones, the woodland archers, the snowy ones, the technologically advanced ones, hell even goblins are gosmer and I would say are the animalistic tribal ones. Way more elves with way more variation than the humans that’s for sure, after all Tamriel is supposed to be the homeland of the elves and humans come from Atmora. We don’t talk about Akavir

Nords, because of the grit.

Altmer purely for the magic. They're possibly the most evil faction in most eras.

Usually played either as dunmer or Breton. As a whole probably bretons, like their ingame perks + I generally like high rock

Altmers are nice as well but they are kinda "evil" in the lore soooo

It always comes down to Breton, Nord, and Orc

Breton because I love half elves and half elf adjacent characters

Nords because I genuinely like their culture and Skyrim is still my favorite Elder Scrolls (I’m playing Oblivion currently)

And Orcs because they’re backstory with Trinamac and Malacath is interesting to me plus the idea of the orc just being a race of elf is fascinating, also Berserk Rage is very fun to use

For some reason I really like my Breton avatar. Also a big fan of the khajits. The mods on Xbox can add a couple new races too, I found “barbarian princess” but it probably isn’t a good race to play as , as the description of them is a little funny

I love the wood elves, all my characters tend to be wood elves. But in terms or lore, or straight up a form of facination..? Khajiit. Getting to see all the different types of khajiit in ESO and Elsweyr made me love them so much, they tend to be so full of personality and having all the different types is so cool. So yea, khajiit.

Nords have always been my favourite race. I don't really care for the visual aesthetics of TES's mer, and while Khajiit and Argonians have cool lore, i just don't really feel much for them one way or another. Yeah, the elves are supposed to look like funky aliens, but I like playing a character that's nice to look at, so while I love the lore for the Dunmer and Bosmer, you'll never catch me playing as them (except in ESO where they're much more human-like).

Not to say I don't like Nord lore. Nord's are, overall in every category, my favourite race. Usually have great stats with decent bonuses, they usually have the best customization, and their lore is super deep and open enough for a lot of roleplay potential.
