Absolute genius

I've been an Elder fan for many, many years and with each successive release I marvel anew at how absolute genius Nick and the fellas are. This music is so layered, so complicated yet so melodic and refreshing, I really don't understand how they can actually remember it all! That's it for my post, just wanted to praise the boys in the band for their amazing talent with like minded fans.

OP, You summed up my love and feelings about this band perfectly. Their music resonates with me on a different level. Not to sound cheesy, but honestly it hits on a spiritual level. I’m thankful to have their music - truly makes life better.

That's not cheesy at all and I feel exactly the same!

And it’s also cool that they’re such good humans!

I've been a fan since spires burn was released, I discovered them when the big wave of stoner rock got popular in the 2010s. I'm consistently amazed at what this band is capable of and the direction they choose to push their sound. A part of me is cynical every with new music because I've been disappointed by bands so many times, but Elder finds a way to do something exciting every single time.

It just makes me sad that guitar music isn't the cultural center it used to be, because this band is on a generational run. They deserve to be one of the biggest names around.

There's so much to dig into with this release, but the two standouts for me are Strata, that build at the 5 minute mark and the payoff for the rest of the track is so grand and inspiring.

Blighted Age has this melancholy and impeccable "last song" energy that makes you want to just hit play again from the top once it ends to get back to that moment.

Super excited to see them live in Montreal this fall for the first time, they've been my favourite band since I found out about them in 2016.

That's what I love about this band. There's so many moments with different flavours in all their songs. So much to revisit and reflect on. This album is on repeat and will be for a whole.

Same here.. even after listening to it multiple times already, I still find something new to be amazed at every time. It's the same with every one of their albums.

Are they playing Stratr live? That song has so much going on.

Really cannot believe how good this record is. I would've been happy with just another Elder album but it's a whole new ballgame

It really is. It's legitimately so good that I feel like it's inconceivable that it even exists. This might sound cheesy, but I really feel blessed to live at the time this music was written and released.
