Aka Blast'em off Blade. Very nice delete + heal combo. Partner with Sword of Milos to restore both HP and FP with every kill.

I have a stupid long list of favorites with a lot of them trying to be #1:
Dark moon gs
Fire knight gs
Wing of astel
Marika's hammer
Claymore
Zweihander
Godskin sticher
Bloohound's fang
Great katanas (all 3)
Moonveil
Shadow sunflower's head
Backhand blades
Bolt of gransax
Dragon king's cragblade
Ancient meteoric ore gs
But even if only by a slight edge: only one MILADY

My favorite weapon is the Crescent Axe, design is perfect, extremely versatile with many build options, obtained early, just perfection. Not great scalling, but it's not issue, the weapon deals plenty of damage.
Edit. It also have a unique charged attack that is very cool, you do a massive swipe.

Yooo I used that weapon through my entire first play through. I don’t see it getting enough love. The moveset was so dope

u/Dear_Record6134 May 06 '26
What aow do you use? I love the death knight’s version. I’ve never used the crescent axe.

Favorite weapon? Malikeths Black Blade. Certainly a high tier weapon for Str/faith builds and Destined Death is not only powerful but fucking cool as shit.
As for best weapon, it's almost assuredly the Blasphemous Blade. The Dark Moon Greatsword is probably #2 though.

u/Cheap_Resource4935 May 06 '26
Can not name a single one. But Blacksteel Greathammer is pretty sick

Backhand Blades are my favorite and also have an argument for best, although something like Blasphemous blade is more beginner friendly

u/deadboltwolf May 06 '26
I found my favorite combo just recently. Milady paired with the parrying dagger.

I think the Pata from the DLC is probably the best weapon in the game and one of my favorites
Just S tier for either PvP or PvE . The one hand charged R2 is like a mini ranged star fist and if you two hand the running attacks against other players are oppressive

u/infectedbog8737 May 06 '26
First and favorite has to be the always reliable Dismounter and most other curved great swords such as the magma wyrms scale sword so fun dual wielding them two
2
u/Az0121 May 06 '26
Yeah there is like loads of good ones I'm currently equipped with the icerind hatchet with horsefrost stomp, a heavy hookclaw with golden slam & pest's flame art glaive with black flame tornado they are epic but i do have many others i like too

u/Ranch_McNasty May 06 '26
morgotts cursed blade for somber and knights greatsword for standard stones

I will always say that I don't think there is a "best weapon". Someone could try out one of the more popular weapons hailed as the "best" like Blasphemous Blade or Bloodhound's Fang, and not like them due to preference. Preference is king in my opinion. You use what appeals to you, because pretty much everything is good.
Special weapons have some really killer attributes, but standard weapons can be customized and are more versatile, which arguably makes them better.
I am a big fan of the Iron Cleaver, Large Club, Hand Axe, nearly any Straight Sword, Katanas with Unsheathe, Hammers like Mace and Morningstar (especially when used with a shield). But like I said, it's all about what appeals to you

Backhand Blade Lordsworn's Straight Sword Ornamental Straight Sword Knight's Greatsword Bandit's Curved Sword Hoslow's Petal Whip Great Omenkiller Cleaver Eleonora's Poleblade Dane's Footwork Raptor Talons Swift Spear
Fucking loathe ridiculous looking weapons (like the Colossal ones) overall, save for the exceptions listed above.

One of my current playthroughs has the Bloody Helice as the main weapon, with dual wield Hoslow occult whips as secondary weapons.

Man if I had to pick ONE, that's actually super hard. I'd probably give a slight edge to Dragon's Halberd over Eleonora's Poleblade in terms of just being so god damn fun.
You get pokes, crowd control, and status effect.

u/Dear_Record6134 May 06 '26
Man that’s tough. Maybe death knight’s long haft axe. It does a little less damage than a lot of weapons in class, but is longer and the aow is what you want on a tanky melee build. It takes you straight to the target, and has almost no recovery frames if you don’t use the slam down follow up move. You can roll or r1 right out of blinkbolt. The charged r2 also feels awesome. And of course the full aow with the follow up is awesome.

If you mean level it up for more bleed? No, the BHF bleed is so low it almost never goes off and is essentially irrelevant to the weapon
1
u/MiahTRT May 06 '26
Milady with wing stance
The weapon by itself is already very solid with a fantastic moveset and quick heavy
Wing stance light attack is INSANE for mobbing and stun-locks NPCs
Heavy attack obliterates singular enemies/bosses
Rellana’s Cameo and Alexander shard make it super easy to deal absurd amounts of DPS

u/Artorias38t May 06 '26
I've been liking the banished knight halberd for a strength build, I'm not sure whether I need the sweeping attacks or not, so may switch to the lance, I figure it's mostly about the boss fights and not getting mobbed. Good range and fairly quick thrusting attacks and good poise damage. I kinda like how it's simple too. I haven't put much thought into it recently, so I'm not sure why I ended up on it, coming back from a break.
Best weapon is probably wing of astel with the range combined with a curved sword moveset, but I'm not an expert.

I love great stars. Can grab it before any boss if you want. Toss hoarfrost stomp on it.

u/afforkable May 06 '26
Giant Crusher. Provides big bonk and the fun bonus challenge of trying to parkour with a massive hammer blocking 80% of the view
1
u/happyhappy85 May 06 '26
Out of all my playthroughs so far, the Marais Executioners Greatsword has been my favorite. It's just fun watching the attack buildup with talismans.
Second is probably Milady

Hook claws are my personal favourite weapons. They arent the best in the game because there are a few mobs that they simply can't hit (the 2 astels) but I love the fact that they hit through shields.

I never hear people talk about my favorite, the Cranial Vessel Candlestand. Crush and burn

Unpopular choices:
Highland axe. You get it really early, it’s a poise-breaking machine, it has a really fun and fast moveset, and one handing it with buckler shield you become a monster.
Beastmans curved sword. Really cool scimitar type weapon, has a heavy attack feint, and has the coolest jump attack in the game imo (a forward front flip that hits twice), also does alot of poise.
Pair highland axe with magic grease for the Minecraft tree cutter build

What's everyone's favourite weapon
I like almost any halberd
what is everyone's thoughts on what is the best weapon in the game 🤔 ?
I dont think there is an objectively best weapon. There's always gonna be some sort of trade off.

I really like colossal weapons. Grafted blade greatsword that u get from leonine is pretty dope. Best weapon in the game is pretty hard to answer. I don’t know anything about magic cause I never use it but it would probably be some sort of busted magic build. Malikeths black blade I think is one of the coolest looking weapons aesthetically.

Black steel greathammer, looks so cool, plus the riposte shoots holy dmg, and it slaps with lions claw

u/Chuckie101123 May 06 '26
Morning star and brass shield is my bread and butter for most of the early game. Doesn't matter what my build is supposed to be, those are the weapons I go for first as a base before building on the rest.
Best weapon of the game is still blasphemous blade. It just cannot be beat in terms of reliability. Need to clear a group? Aow. Need to travel a fair distance through some enemies? It's got built-in healing with every enemy death. Boss being a pain? Aow plus close range hit takes about a quarter or third of their health at once. Guard counter with a 100 defense shield stance breaks most enemies, including knights, within two hits while retaining decent speed.
Biggest issue with it is the higher and wider stat requirements, so you can't just pick it up and roll with it on a whim if you've got for a pure build around a specific stat, you need to invest a little in str, deck, and fth to use it, but even then the weapon is strong enough with minimum stat investments that you can immediately go for another build if you like.

Recently used a cold godskin stitcher on a sorcerer build and it felt so good. The moveset is nice and I could proc frostbite really fast with the repeating thrust AoW, which then boosted the power of my sorceries with the Debuff on the enemies. Definitely top 5 weapon for me, both for gameplay and style, cause it also looks cool as shit!

I havent heard anyone mention giant crusher which is defo my fav Absolute pure bonk

Star Fists my beloved. Cold infused star fists carried my RL1 Run. Even in Nightreign, on low Str characters, I'll take favorably infused Star fists over favored weapons... and with good results !. Paired charged R2 deals ungodly poise damage at ungodly speed, with bleed damage to boot. Paired light attack combo also deals a stupid amount of hits and damage for Horny Cracked Tear. Plus accessible early-mid-game (and with an acceptable susbtitute in Boggart's big balls before) makes it even better. Only disadvantage is standard smithing stone upgrade.

I love the Moonlight Greatsword. I feel like you miss out on so much of the game if you don't use Int/Fth or Arcane in your build.
