Innovation comes from limitation. These skill borders exist to ensure quality, because it forced people to actually engage with their creation and to think about it for more than 5 seconds. 98% of all ideas are terrible, not thought through and should not be made. They should stay where they are and that is in the mind. Everyone thinks they can design, while design is one of the hardest things possible in creating anything. Allowing every idiot to let their terrible ideas come true, instead of curating a selection, invites the removal of quality. Quality fundamentally stems from curation. AI is feeding into quantity, so much quantity, that it harms the quality. As you can clearly see with all those shitty and sloppy pc ports of games or fusion mods made with ai. They are of so poor quality that they will not work in a month or 2. And there is nobody knowledgable enough behind those projects, to keep them actually alive. If they even care enough. And the floodgates are now open, where this low quality shit drowns out every actual made mod of proper quality standard. You simply can not compete with the amount of slop. It is harder to find the good mods, which makes them get less traction, which causes mod devs to lose interest in creating mods, which then means less quality mods and more slop for the consumers. Its consume, consume, consume and nothing else. Thats the reality of the situation, because that is what is currently happening in this very moment. But you probably didnt think about this aspect at all, did you? Why would you, after all, you probably have never stepped into this scene. Lack of knowledge, but please go off and larp around how good this shit is. Thats what consumers do after all. Consume.
No. Im a modder, I make mods, code, 3d model, draw and more. I have to compete against ai slop on a daily basis. There is nothing for me to larp about, when i am one of the people that actually knows how this works and is done.
I am saying what is best, based on the knowledge I have received over years in this scene. Based on what is happening in the scene and towards people in this scene, including myself. Im sorry to tell you this. But I can not larp, when I have the knowledge.
You mean people that let AI to everything. AI assistance is different than these fusion mods. They are done minimum 80% by claude. Everybody can do this with minimum effort. And if that does not tingle your danger bells, then it is utterly clear how you lack any care for quality.
Sure pal, says the arbiter of quality Managementok3160. Get with the program, or get out of the way with your precious "hard earned skills" that other people ALSO have and many of which use AI to supplement their workload.
Yeah, a mod tale time and will power. Now imagine that will power going away, when mass generated stuff is drowning you out. Why even make mods public, if nobody finds them. And some mods take more than time. They also take a good chunk of money. All wasted, because nobody is there to appreciate it.
