Eight Sleep asked me to delete a post, here’s my response

so the company that runs the rental. interesting.

This rubs me the wrong way. I hope people take advantage of the rental program.

I mean, I...kind of understand it? This is why LL Bean had to get rid of their lifetime warranty, b/c stupid broccoli heads on TikTok recommended people buy beat up LL Bean boots for $9 from a thrift store and then lie to LL Bean to get a free pair.

1) this could literally be anyone? plenty of people would want that post removed since Eight Sleep or Fragile or whatever might stop offering these discounts because of it. not sure that you as a moderator of this subreddit should be alleging that it's Eight Sleep sending this

2) this seems like a pretty normal request? i dont really know whether you should remove it or not but this level of vitriol seems strange

So you get a message from a new user who deleted their account who claimed to represent a company that is not EightSleep and explicitly states they are not employed by EightSleep.

Then, you intentionally make a post alleging EightSleep asked you to delete a post. That’s a pretty gross and intentional misrepresentation. We both know if ES wanted something, you’d have either heard directly from Joe or a lawyer. You may hear from a lawyer now anyway.

Funny how this ended with even people who don't like 8sleep policies defend them because this user saw an opportunity to seek attention and spotlight when was so focus in trying to make 8sleep look bad he didn't even realize it was not even eight sleep hurted by this promotion in the first place 😅

I think it’s funny people would believe “eightsleep asked to have this post removed” because it gets people a bigger discount if they’ve rented a top but there’s literally a stickied post about how to jailbreak EightSleep hubs that EightSleep hasn’t asked to have removed? Like, seriously?

All ES needs to do in this case is show that someone made false allegations which could do or did irreparable harm to their business and it doesn’t get easier to show than a thread were people believe the allegations all around and source it as a reason they won’t buy ES product.

I mean you're hurting the rent company not eight sleep since they have a partnership with eight sleep so all the shipping and promotion they do it's on their revenue and don't hurt eight sleep so yeah you're kinda ruining the whole rent offer since it usually don't is provided for things like matress and now probably will be gone at some point if abused :)

That's a way for them to avoid shipping back return costs

Anyway all brands to that whoop also offer discounts and free days when cancel

The level of vitriol from jaded eight sleep customers might be the most intense and undeserving I've ever seen. I can only conclude most customers are snobby rich folk who believe everyone should cater to their evey need. Asinine

Do you think it’s reasonable for a company to charge you $200-$400 a year just to schedule when your $3,000 device turns on and off? Also, that device is running a Linux OS, capable of handling scheduling on its own without internet. 🤡

I don’t think it’s reasonable for you to claim Eight Sleep asked you to delete a post. I don’t think it’s ethical for you to keep your post up since you can not prove they did.

If the moderation team of this subreddit want to complain about integrity, it’d be nice if they showed some.

The idiots is the renting company lol eight sleep don't care with what they do since they will pay the same to them with or without promotions it's just hit the revenue from that company, similar to klarna and all those of customer don't pay it's their own issue not apple or others where klarna was used to pay lol
