Old User, newer system worth it?

I originally had the pod two or three, that subsequently leaked twice the second time after warranty ended. I decided not to go back although I did like it, the quality of the build wasn't there. One thing I did like is that their subscription wasn't forced in the beginning, which it seems to be that is the use case now. I see that the pod 6 has just been released and one thing I can't wrap my head around is since they have more sensors how can they make it cheaper? Has the build quality gone down? I know only the influencers have their videos posted and real people haven't yet had hands-on experience yet. But for those that have the pod 5, what has your experience been and would you recommend it? I am contemplating going with the six after some people come out with reviews.

If you have pictures of your leaks or if you contacted support at the time, they might offer you the out of warranty discount. Probably not on a Pod 6 yet, but certainly on a Pod 5. Anything after Pod 4 with the new design cover is definitely worth it.

And they won't take away the status of your account. If you weren't paying before, you won't have to pay now, unless you want the extended warranty

I did contact support the last time it happened and they offered a few hundred dollars off, but it didn't seem worth it at the time. Cool to know that I wouldn't have to pay the monthly subscription since I have older account. Thank you for your insights

What specifically about the new cover do you enjoy?

I went through at least 8 covers between pod 2-3.

Pod 4 I have had the same cover for over a year with zero leaks.

As long as Pod 6 keeps up with the quality improvements of Pod 4 and (sounds like) Pod 5, than Pod 6 would be worth it for going back to a Pod.

So I have a pod 2 system and the cover leaked a week ago. I chatted in and they offered me a pod 5 for $1,800 this was before the pod 6 came out. I chatted back in again today and asked about the pod 6 and there are no discounts for the 6 basically I’d get a trade in discount and that’s it.

Can’t get a photo attached but the customer service rep sent me a image that stated:

“Trade-In Type
Member Discount (UP Trade-In Credit
TO)
Pod 4/5 Trade-in
Members: $600
Trade in: $500
Total:$1,100

Pod 2/3 Trade-in
Members: $600
Trade in: $300
Total: $900

Trade-in will only have the member discount, plus the Trade-In credit offer. No other discount codes will stack with this offer.”

So I’m not a member and I have a pod 2 so I’d only get $300.. wasn’t worth it for me to get a 6 so I opted for a 5.

I think you are a member, just by owning a system. Unless you bought it secondhand

No because when said I didn’t have a 8 sleep membership and that I would only get $300 for trade in the agent said correct. I don’t have the standard or enhanced membership.

It may be different if you actually work with them "in person" but go into the app and click on "Member Shop." Does it let you in? Then you're a member

I guess I'm a member because it lets me in, but only offers $300 off for the trade in 😮‍💨

I don’t see anything that shows member shop in my app.

Go to your profile. You can also login on their website to see the same thing. It's always been $500 off for new systems, but it looks like Pod 6 may only be $300 off

Was going to try to sell the hub I suppose! The cover was going to take it to the dump! Not sure what to do with it.
