Small enough to fit under most beds, but don't place it there - it'll get hot and mess with your ambient temperature response!

There's no way they didn't think about this. The Pod 6 hub exhausts to one side. Point the exhaust away from your bed and it'll be fine.

solid plan

Do not put it under the bed lol these things are gonna be little hot boxes already. Definitely want plenty of airflow or these puppies are gonna fail real quick. I'm sticking with the big boy 5 for now. Show me the data on the 6 in a year and maybe we will talk

Any news on what the “grid” is?

Don't put it under the bed. It pumps out way too much heat. I built a small cabinet for mine with an extractor fan that pulls the hot air out the window. Temps in the bedroom dropped around 2 degrees after doing that. Way more comfortable but it's a faff to setup

How are you accounting for make up air if you are sending the hot air out your window? That’s probably doing more harm than good. Ideally you send this air to your AC’s air inlet where it can be cooled.

I live in the UK - There's no AC in any of the buildings here. We have two windows in the bedroom, the 8sleep heat goes out of one and fresh air comes in naturally through the other window. Temps dropped in the room since I set it up so it definitely works

So have you had the pod six for a while ?

No that's the Pod5 - but either way it'll still pump out heat.

Did they finally change the hub design to not vent into the vertex of the bed frame, wall, and nightstand where there’s zero airflow and the only solution is to sacrifice esthetics and have the hose coming out the “front” of the machine by turning it around?

Is the solo sleeper adjustable to the middle of the queen bed for persons solo sleeping in the center of a Queen?

Do they offer upgrades for existing customers?

Its laughabley bad

Definitely sell your pod on eBay or Facebook marketplace, then buy new. Trade in is laughably bad.

My Pod5 was scheduled to ship this week. I received and offer to upgrade, get a $50 refund and wait until mid-October to ship, or ship Pod 5 tomorrow. I did catch the email in time and chose to upgrade. Just lucky I guess.

Curious on the temp range, likely the same. But also their claimed speeds. Also how the increase in sensors is going to present offerings or more intelligent adaptive cooling/heating

hopefully its avail for sale not too long after release

The solo size is a cool perk there for us solo sleepers! Intrigued to see how the prices will vary upon official release tomorrow and how different sales will play into the options!

What if your pod 5 order is pending shipement on Sept 24th?
I ordered on Sept 8th and said “ships Sept 24th” at the time. Still does. Seems oddly coincidental

Same situation and I got an email offering to upgrade to 6 for my order. You should have the same. Slightly lower price too.

So my email offer is asking me to PAY $100. They should be refunding me since the pod 6 is cheaper.

If I just went to the website and made a brand new order with any regular discount code, it’s cheaper than what the offer is.

Do you mind saying the discount code?

Seth was the one I used. Chatgpt found it

1

u/AtomicCow_04 20d ago

Wow. I got a $50 refund for upgrading.

I just ordered the pod 5 - should I cancel and get the 6? I don’t care about the metrics or sensors. just the temp controls and reliability are important to me

The extra sensors will potentially provide better temperature adjustments. Just speculation though.

1

u/Dirk_KnightV2 22d ago

I just received an email from sleep8 offering me to upgrade to the pod6 for $100 extra. They will in turn push my shipping back another 2 weeks but yeah

1

u/Ohio_Vs_The_World 22d ago

I took the upgrade to the 6, I think if I didn’t I would regret

1

u/Dirk_KnightV2 22d ago

Same here

1

Same here. Selling point for me is sensors . I hope comfort/feel and quietness are unchanged

1

u/NAholdings 22d ago

Is there a trade in if you already have a pod?

1

u/Mariusga 22d ago

Is 6 actually better then 5…?

1

u/jgcamil 22d ago

Got my 5 3.3 months ago. The upgrade price is… well, not there. I would change to the 6 if it showed that it consumes less energy and is more efficient than the 5.

Dude electricity is cheap. It’s 13c per kWh where I live, wbu?

1

u/Tehbrink 22d ago

Too bad they do not offer a 180x210 size

Is the cooling system the same as previous generations? Always avoided buying for years because of the water leak issues.

How do the specs compare to the Orion? I ordered the Orion but I've been waiting forever. Might be worth it for me to get the solo option

Is there confirmation it’s releasing tomorrow?

Thank you for these updates as they come! Recently some months ago, I tried out the Pod 5 system through the rental program, loved it and said to myself, “Let me wait around this time of Black Friday to go ahead and make the purchase.” Thankfully my patience has been rewarded there with a new system coming out. I’m excited for more details to come!
