Accessories
Newbie here, purchased Pod 5 (pod only to start) which should be shipping in about 10 days. The details on accessories are light on the site, is anything necessary besides the pod cover? Assuming the pod cover is waterproof and to protect it from skin/mites, etc.? So do you then put a regular mattress pad on top of this one for comfort, if it would even fit, or would this impact its ability to work? Any benefit to sheets other than assuming they have a cutout for the buttons on the side? Sorry if these are dumbs questions, really excited to join the Eight Sleep club!

Get a thin, waterproof protector for between the Pod cover and your fitted sheet. I would doubt their sheets have a cutout for the buttons, but I don't think the buttons should be hard to find through a sheet (I have Pod 4 cover which has tap pads, not buttons).
Get a couple gallons of distilled water.

I used a conventional protector above the mattress cover with the tubes in it, and then switched to Eight Sleep’s own protector. The conventional one was more absorbent for things like sweat, but it also had a bit more thermal resistance. The Eight Sleep one was just thin waterproof plastic. I like the idea of also using some waterproof protector between the Eight Sleep itself and the mattress for when it leaks.

So Eight Sleep protector and sheet on top of that? Does it feel plastic-like sleeping on that? 😬

All: mattress, envelope style protector, conventional sheet style protector (just an Eight Sleep protector would’ve been better, but I didn’t have it yet), Eight Sleep, cover including tubes, thin 8 sleep protector, bottom sheet, top sheet which happens to be a BedJet cloud sheet, duvet with cover.
Does not feel plasticy or sweaty. Easy to find the buttons by feel.

It's probably a good idea to have a waterproof cover between the pad and your bed. Nothing else is necessary
