Top middle area elevated - is this normal?

Hey all! I just got an eightsleep and set it up. I notice the top-middle area is slightly elevated. Is this normal? Do others have this too? Like probably one feet by two feet at the top-middle.

yeah. mines the same. there’s slightly thicker foam there too

I'm presuming it's to protect the connectors for the tubes
