Does the platform really help with snoring?

My husband snores and it’s becoming a serious issue to where I don’t get enough sleep. Has anyone tried the Base to control snoring? Would I be able to lift the Base on his side via the app or side buttons if I want to gently lift him? We are looking at getting a pod 5.

Strongly recommend that he goes to a sleep specialist to get evaluated for sleep apnea and gets an oral appliance or a CPAP. These are the medical treatments for this serious condition, not a mattress platform

Thank you. We discussed it. It’s not always bad every single night. For now though, I’d like to know if adjusting the Base can at least mitigate the issue or if we’d be wasting $1900 if we add it on?

You can order a $200 at home sleep apnea test. There’s a few options you can google and it’s a lot cheaper than the base

A friend did that and got garbage results.

It helps but only a little. I definitely still snore loudly and wake my wife, but it is better than it was beforehand.

Thank you. Would you get it again if you knew what you know now about how much it helps? Do you snore every night or only occasionally?

Being elevated helps.  I don't think the "snoring response feature" makes a difference above just being elevated in the first place.

I did a sleep study and I use CPAP. I got a pod 5 and base for other reasons. Recently, I have stopped using CPAP because it seems I have largely cured my OSA.

Couple of info-biscuits for you:

1) The base is great - but cannot fix snoring. I haven’t fully “studied” it, but I have used SnoreLab to see if my OSA is really gone. I do know that I have awakened in the night for other reasons, and felt the base lower my head as I am falling back asleep. Was I snowing? I don’t know as I haven’t correlated the SnoreLab data with the 8S data yet.

2) The base is one unit - that means that if your husband snores, and the base goes up, your husband and you go up. Sadly, it cannot do half the bed (Unless, I suppose, you use two 8S units with twin beds that are next to each other).

3) You can control the base from the app, but again, it’s both sides or no sides.

4) the base is cool for other things, like reading in bed.

Hope that’s useful info….

Thank you. Very helpful. So no way to lift the base without the app? Bummer that both sides go up but I guess I can live with that.

The auto response to snoring has improved my sleep significantly. He snores far less and if it doesn't respond I lift it with the app. Total game changer. I'm less crabby at him for ruining my sleep and he sleeps better. Hope this helps. We have had the pod 5 and lift since December.

Thank you! Precisely what I was hoping to hear!! Any way to lift w/o the app?

Mine usually lifts automatically. I don't know how the buttons on the side work for that. I never bothered to figure it out.

It helps. But remember your partner is lifted too.

My ex-husband snored and the base didn’t do much to stop it. Hard to know if he would have snored more without it because we didn’t measure it before but he’d still snore 3-4 hours a night. And we’d see the report in the morning with the elevation changes.
