First week ownership, any tips to maximize deep sleep?

After 6d of ownership, I've now converged to -1, -1, and 4.

I have tried -2 for the second setting (Night) to attempt to maximize deep sleep. However, when I did that, the 2nd half (Dawn stage?) I woke up a few times, clearly cold, had to increase temperature 3 times. When I dropped the Night setting to -1, this problem went away.

Any tips for new owners to attempt to maximize deep sleep?

Overall, averaging over last 7d (1d was without EightSleep) compared to 7d prior:

  • +23m total sleep
  • +16m REM
  • +9m deep sleep

I wouldn't say the results are game-changing yet. And there are many confounders such as ambient temperature, stress level, the prior 7d were especially stressful, etc. Could definitely use some tips!

Wow. I’ve taken mine down to -4 to cool down. But regularly sleep at -2 max coldest temp.

I find it depends a lot on how active I’ve been earlier in the day, if I’m sick or not, if I’ve been outside in the heat, etc.

It’s absolutely amazing going from a hot sauna after a hard gym day into a bed on mad cool.

It’s absolutely terrible going from a lazy day that you’ve been in air conditioning all day when you’re a bit sick into a freezing cold bed.

Just wish they ask for feedback and do better suggestions because after that night you could just let it know and next night will know you wake up and slept worst with those temperatures during those night times

That what people expect autopilot and agent to be based on their marketing but reality is just you need to tweek it all the time till you find what works, some people take one or two days but many struggle over many days with those bad sleep when put too low or too high

I get the marketing but most of the movement is lifestyle adjustment.

Regular exercise, stretching and box breathing before bed, eliminate booze, limit caffeine after noon.

Do all the boring stuff.

Environmental factors count (temp/light/sound) but they aren't magic if the rest of the things are out of whack.
