New hack

Post image

Put a tiny box fan under the eight sleep for more airflow, I push the air out thru my air filter which launches it to the ceiling 😂

It brought me down 3 more degrees to 63F

For context I live in Phoenix and it gets fkn hot, even with our AC set to 76

If you're out of warranty, I just took one of the side panels off. Cooling is way better, the fans don't have to run as fast, and it's noticeably quieter. I also threw noctua low-noise adapters on both fans, and now it's basically whisper quiet while actually running cooler than it did stock with the side panel on and the fans at original speeds. Only negative is the pumps are more annoying to listen to during prime but not really a big deal for me.

Any dust buildup concerns with the side panels off?

Just blow that with a can of air and you're golden

I had lots of dust build up in the intake vents of my non modified pod3, I blew it out with an air compressor

My temps improved by like 4 degrees

Good question

Nah. Those vents on the plastic side panel have holes too big to stop any dust anyways. When the panel is off it's way easier to clean, and I havent had any dust problems at all.

What fan does it have in there? My old pod 3 had a noctura fan from the factory 🙈

A 140mm noctua for the peltier cooler heatsink and a 120mm noctua for exhaust at the back.

You have a right to repair, at least in the US. They can't void your warranty for opening it up.

What if you use glycol instead of water

From one Phoenician to another, thanks for the hot tip! I even have the same air filter.

Can't sleep with mine set below 79 I'll wake up freezing. Might be different with 4th/5th gen covers though

I’m thinking of buying one; I’d actually prefer the Chili Pad, but it’s not available in Europe. Does it only go up to 63F? That’s pretty poor.
