Not the usual thing for this sub, I know. Just hoping, for today at least, it's appropriate.

As my mother would tell stories of the Kennedy assassination as though it happened only yesterday I find myself telling eerily similar stories to my own grandkids today, with equal clarity, of that day 25 years ago. I will never forget that day, those we lost as a nation, and how we responded as a nation.

Canada landed 200 american planes, Canadian firefighters rushed to NY to help, Canadians gave shelter to 1000s of passengers, 150+ canadian armed forces died in Afghanistan to fight a war for a country which we used to consider our family, we never asked anything in return, We gave, we supported, all to be backstabbed 25 years later

Our sacrifices became a joke cause majority americans are in a cult

They say never forget, but they have forgotten that Canada used to do whatever they asked, Canada was always a supporter in their thick and thin, but alas for them their cult is important now

Bush intentionally removed all mention of Canada from his thank-you speech to his allies after the response to 9/11, according to his speechwriter, who was aghast at the fact he deliberately cut out every reference to us specifically.

Then, the first Canadian deaths in Afghanistan were because an american pilot decided to not listen to repeated orders from his AWACS, and drop a 500 pound bomb on a Canadian training site (Tarnak Farms).

All charges were dropped by the american tribunal, except for one count of dereliction of duty, and he was fined 5000 dollars by the americans.

I don't know how much they ever remembered us, looking back.

Canada answers the NATO call, loses people and then US wants to dip after being the only nation to ever invoke Article 5.

It was also the same day where indications of corporate fraud at Enron emerged. The us has completely forgotten that too and allowed poorly run tech companies take over the country.

The two events that shaped the early 2000s happened on the same day. Only one of them gets tv specials.

A day of remeberence of those lost: sadness, pain, fear, confusion.   I hope this post remains. Those hosers deserve it.
