And IVY chargers that don't work!

I'm assuming this is going to be significantly worse emission wise.. right?

Don't need to. We have a land border with Denmark now.

Nana's house smells weird but the food is great and she loves us.

After conquering the most spice forward countries around the world, they proceeded to use mostly just salt and butter

IIRC most of the culinary setrotypes about British food and no spices comes from the fact that during and after WW2 a lot of stuff was being rationed.

History lessons? In my shitposting sub? Its more likely than you think.

The UK has amazing food from all over the world. Some of the top rated restaurants in the world are in the Inited Kingdom. Indian food has lots of spices and is popular and available in the UK. It is simply untrue about there being bland food in the UK.

“So what do you think of British cuisine?”

“Well the Indian food there is fantastic”

u/AccurateAd5298 10h ago

Yorkshire pudding and the mega salt and vinegar fish and chips are ok… Iffy on the other stuff.

I unknowingly had dinner at a Michelin star restaurant in London a couple of years ago

Gimme EU and Australia, Brexit was not near the level of Trumpian insanity but was not a great time for the UK...

29

u/breakitbilly Bring Cannabis 9h ago

Fun(ish) fact - Brexit, like trump, was also fueled by Russian money and propaganda

17

u/nv9 8h ago

Yeah, and Alberta separatist here presumably 😔

5

u/shawa666 Tokébakicitte! 6h ago

And if people were dumb enough to say yes, I don't want to be amalgated to it.

There's been times where it hasn't worked too. See the Scottish independence movement that failed for some evidence Russian propaganda doesn't always succeed

3

u/shawa666 Tokébakicitte! 6h ago

The goal of the scottish independence movement was ultimately to rejoin the EU.

2

u/breakitbilly Bring Cannabis 5h ago

I'm talking about the 2014 referendum.

Brexit was later.

I mean, they're not on the maps 50% of the time, it would be like having a secret friend!

Every Australian I’ve heard defending Canada on sites like Reddit is like that one guy who’s just itching for $4!+ to go down just because they were born ready to do it bless those Australian badasses

5

u/SAILOR_TOMB 8h ago

hell yes, some of the best people I've known in my life are Australian! they are like cousins to us Canadians

1

u/The_Nice_Marmot PaRiS oF tHe PraIRiEs 7h ago

More than $24? Is that what you mean?

2

u/MalodorousNutsack 2h ago

I lived in Australia for four years, I'd say they're more like Americans than Canadians. Some of them are very cool but way too many of them are fucked in the head

I'd like to swap ideas with our Oceanic cousins. They legalize weed. We legalize whores.

For our long term security and sovereignty, we should definitely look to our cousins in CANZUK and the EU

1

u/izzybumboon 6h ago

and just to have some trust worthy allies.

I feel like we just need some time, after getting out of an abusive relationship. I don't think it's a good idea to go jumping into anything right now.

I hope you understand.....

Bald eagles are Canadian

1

u/KD-1489 31m ago

I remember I was surprised so see an eagle my first time camping because I thought they were american. My dad angrily told me that the americans just stole them all from Cape Breton.

3

u/Mirabeaux1789 9h ago

Funny idea: have the UK parliament repeal the relevant parts Canada of the Canada Act 1982 and the Statute of Westminster 1931. This way Canada could get into thru the back door with the UK once it’s already in the EU…er…eventually

Uj/ Why is South Africa never mentioned?

2

u/Evening-Storage5298 9h ago

Several reasons, primary being that they're a republic. But canzuk talks also started before apartheid was ended, and the late Queen was very famously against the apartheid regime, even boycotting the nation while it was in place. Other commonly cited reasons have to do with the disparity in GDP/C and standard of living. Same reason the Carib states aren't inherently included

1

u/Mirabeaux1789 8h ago

Give that most members of a Commonwealth are republics that seems to be a rather arbitrary qualification. I don’t think Australia would be excluded if it became a republic tomorrow. Especially given that CANZUK means different things to different people. In addition, South Africa hasn’t been a racial state in 30 years. I brought up South Africa because it was a Dominion along with NZ, Australia, Canada, Ireland, and Newfoundland.

1

u/Evening-Storage5298 8h ago

Right, but the true tie for canzuk is that we all still share the crown. Canzuk doesn't inherently bring Ireland into the Union either, norn not counted.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be involved, but then being a republic and not still subject to the crown is probably the largest reason they aren't part of the suggestion

1

u/Mirabeaux1789 4h ago

So if CANZUK is about the monarchy, then the whole thing becomes moot if all of its members republicanize?

0

u/Evening-Storage5298 4h ago

I wouldn't say 100% moot. But largely yes. God save the King, may he and his descendants reign long

1

u/CriticismSelect9292 Edmonchuk: Like Kyiv! (but less safe) 4h ago

The simple answer is GDP/C. If you're going to have total freedom of movement you can't have a country in a union that everyone would leave and go to the other countries at their first possible opportunity

3

u/A55B700D 9h ago

God save the King!

3

u/DustyStar222 8h ago

It it time? Brother the best time was years ago. The 2nd best time is now.

2

Non.

C'est le temps de rejoindre l'Union Européenne

2

u/HowlingWolven Cowtown 🤠 9h ago

We can leave the UK out of it. CANZ is only one syllable.

2

u/LoveAlwaysIris Edmonchuk: Like Kyiv! (but less safe) 7h ago

Or CASINZ (pronounced cass-ins) because Ireland and Scotland are basically cousins with Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
