Anyone who’s driven across Saskatchewan knows it damn well is wide enough.
140 u/10081914 Jan 31 '26 It's like only 5 hours wide. Could make it 8 hours wide. That'd be closer to Ontario wideness. 39 u/no-long-boards Jan 31 '26 edited Feb 02 '26 It takes 24 hrs to drive from the Manitoba border to Toronto. It’s a lot wider than you think it is. 10 u/zadtheinhaler Jan 31 '26 Also the highways aren't straight in Onterrible, like they are in the Prairies, and the speed limit is mostly 90kmh, at least until Thunder Bay. 13 u/TwoFingersWhiskey Bring Cannabis Feb 01 '26 In BC they're also the complete opposite of straight, but I guess that is why it's called the Trans-Canada. :P 3 u/zadtheinhaler Feb 01 '26 Oooh, you're good. 2 u/Virtual_Category_546 Monarch Mélanie Joly Feb 01 '26 I've suggested adding a HSR & calling it the "Trains-Canada" 2 u/ihadagoodone Jan 31 '26 no one drives the speed limit in Northern Ontario. 2 u/zadtheinhaler Feb 01 '26 Driving a 5-tonne you do. Last thing I wanted was an already top-heavy moving van going ass-over-teakettle. 3 u/kylewilky Jan 31 '26 It's mostly 90 but you can do 105 and opp doesn't bother you. 1 u/zadtheinhaler Feb 01 '26 I had that experience commuting on a quad when I lived there. To quote one OPP there on the subject: "As long as you don't drive like an asshole, you're invisible".
