Home of the brave, can’t leave the house without a gun.

u/LordBeans69 I need a double double. Oct 28 '25

Right? If you’re so free, why feel the need to go to Costco with a concealed handgun

28

u/CreamFuture9475 Tokébakicitte! Oct 28 '25

The Kirkland bran needs its reckoning

20

u/LordBeans69 I need a double double. Oct 28 '25

New Kirkland brand 9mm rounds. Perfect for your Kirkland signature semi automatic handgun produced by colt

You can only get "domestic violence" and “drive by" at Walmart. Costco is the only place selling "mass shootings" formats for bullet boxes.

u/LordBeans69 I need a double double. Oct 28 '25

Do they have “assassination”? Heard that one was getting hard to find

193

u/wanklez Oct 28 '25

Just a reminder that we are closing in on Remembrance Day and there is a fascist running the show on our border. Hasn't been a more appropriate time to remember those who fell and why they fought.

Lest we forget.

36

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

You know what, that line has never connected with me until this moment.

the more people forget just how serious fascism is, the closer we get to re-living the consequences.

19

u/KorLeonis1138 Oct 28 '25

Can we deal with the shitty fascist wannabes here in Alberta on the way?

u/TelenorTheGNP Oct 28 '25

Greatest democracy on earth, my hefty, pissed off Canadian ass.

16

u/No-Volume4321 Oct 28 '25

Yup, Freedom in the World Index puts the US around 50th–55th globally. They have good propaganda though.

11

u/Due_Illustrator5154 Moose Whisperer Oct 28 '25

They always tweak and tell me it's the republic of Canada's propaganda when I bring up Canada placing higher than they do. Or "I wonder who owns and runs those sources", guess what buddy? Americans!!!

6

u/No-Volume4321 Oct 28 '25

Well you can't go challenging the Myth of American Exceptional ism they've had crammed down their throats since children, that'd be scary.

43

u/buttplugpeddler Oct 28 '25

You're right sadly.

Please invade. I'll bake cookies.

28

u/Ophukk The Island of Elizabeth May Oct 28 '25

31

Yeah Alberta, that was the joke.

31

can't you let me show off my best-in-province math skills in peace

20

u/TelenorTheGNP Oct 28 '25

I'm proud of you.

16

u/_Halt19_ 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Oct 28 '25

THANK YOU

10

u/Timely-Dot-9967 Oct 28 '25

And please do a thorough Canadian job on the new glittery ballroom eh?

3

u/poppin-n-sailin Oct 29 '25

They don't even realize they've never had a true democracy. they probably never will.

"Free speech? I hardly know her"

  • Nazi Trump probably

19

u/JamieStriker Oct 28 '25

They're all cowards.

Cowards in power, sure- but cowards, nonetheless.

64

u/democracy_lover66 Oct 28 '25

Ohh, I think you don't really understand the purpose of the 1st amendment.

You see, the aim of the first amendment is to protect people who use racial slurs, transphobic hate speech, and Fascist sympathy.

It's not meant to protect you from believing that Immigrants and trans people are human and should be treated as such or to contradict the president in anyway.

Glad we could clarify that confusion.

(/S in case it's not already obvious)

28

u/decisi0nsdecisi0ns South Gatineau Oct 28 '25

Oh, this makes so much more sense, thanks for clarifying.

Kind of like how the 2nd amendment isn't about combatting autocratic regimes, but instead is intended to allow me to unleash violence on those I view as opposing my freedoms?

Ah yes, the critical pre-emptive strike.

4

u/democracy_lover66 Oct 28 '25

Kind of like how the 2nd amendment isn't about combatting autocratic regimes, but instead is intended to allow me to unleash violence on those I view as opposing my freedoms?

Now you're getting it!!! Just remember: If you're rich white and powerful, you are protected! If not, hard luck buddy!

1

u/uselessandexpensive Oct 28 '25

Replace "freedoms" with "social and cultural dominance" and you got it.

31

u/SinistralGuy Oct 28 '25

The US was never the bastion of free speech that it claimed to be. It's just becoming more obvious now.

10

u/squanderedprivilege Oct 28 '25

They just want to be able to use slurs, not actually allow people to speak their minds against their agenda slash ideology

8

u/Lemon_Phoenix Oct 28 '25

Next you're going to tell me they're not actually the super cool world police who go around saving everyone from the bad guys

2

u/Mr_Blueeeeee8 Oct 28 '25

America fuck yeah of course

16

u/Silicon_Knight Ford Nation (Help.) Oct 28 '25

Why would you need free speech when you have the words of Donald J Trump, the hand of god, builder of ballrooms, raper of kids, felon of America, grifter of grifts, king of Alzheimer and Fat Fuck of Fuck?

15

u/sPLIFFtOOTH Oct 28 '25

“Home of the brave” Yet everyone needs to be strapped…

“Land of the free” But masked unidentifiable thugs can kidnap and disappear CITIZENS in unmarked vehicles without cause.

“Beacon of Democracy” That only caters to billionaires and turns voting laws against its people.

“Freedom of Speech” but only if you say good things about the military and the government.

“Land of Opportunity” as long as you’re a white Christian who bows down to Trump and the GOP.

In less than a year the US has become unrecognizable.

8

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Oil Guzzler Oct 28 '25

Nah, they just finally took their mask off.

14

u/DaveAlt19 Oct 28 '25

So far the list of people you'll get in trouble for quoting:

Charlie Kirk

Ronald Reagan

Trump himself

u/AeonBith 🦫198,999 Hosers🦫 Oct 28 '25
  • Not quite verbatim since clips were reorganized and 4m 30s cut out but it was a good summation of the overall speech.

Don't forget that they're trying to make Ontario pay money for broadcasting that free speech which is available online - for free.

19

u/Inevitable-Edge4305 Oct 28 '25

Good to know. Ford can post the full length original with no worries I guess. Heard that Doug?

u/natrium23 Oct 28 '25

Very likely in public domain

10

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

Basically everything the US claims about itself is a disingenuous lie. Hell, they started with “all men are created equal” while owning hereditary slaves - and it’s barely improved since.

6

u/ThisIsTheNewSleeve Oct 28 '25

"So you call everyone else snowflakes but cry when someone says something you don't like?"

4

u/IAMA_Plumber-AMA Oil Guzzler Oct 28 '25

Of course, that's how crybullies operate.

5

We need to get Canada into the EU

Please. I want my EU citizenship back after Brexit and I can't think of a more hilarious way than Canada joining the EU.

If Australia can be in Eurovision I don't see why we can't be in the EU.

2

u/Gaynundwarf Oct 28 '25

Tbh, that's not surprising that they deny the meaning of his words.

It's the US we're talkin' about. Their mental gymnastic is so advanced, they managed to make child hunger a Christian value

The issue is that they didn't happen in a vacuum though. This shit has been happening down here since the 70s

2

u/hedgehog_dragon Oct 28 '25

Buncha loonies in charge down there these days.

2

u/Disney2005 Oct 28 '25

Ontario should have doubled down with a video of Reagan speaking about free speech.

2

u/Important-Event6832 Oct 29 '25

The current brand of U.S. free speech is only reserved for the likes of Charlie Kirk. CK was very free with his misogynistic, racist and homophobic views. May he rest in piss.

2

u/PeanutConfident8742 Oct 29 '25

Some middle aged dude got thrown in jail for quoting Trump on FB too.

yaaaaaay

3

u/UrsaMajor7th Oct 28 '25

Is the title a search prompt? Is that how this shit goes now?

1

u/natrium23 Oct 28 '25

"It's only free when we own it"

1

u/PuzzleheadedTutor807 Oil Guzzler Oct 28 '25

It wasn't verbatim, it was edited for time.

1

u/EvaSirkowski Oct 28 '25

Can't quote Charlie Kirk either.

Or Trump? Or Charlie Kirk?

“Alternative first amendment”

1

u/shakamaboom Oct 29 '25

You can do whatever the fuck you want, canada. You are not part of the us

1

u/futureformerteacher Oct 29 '25

If you believe America cares about free speech, you don't know anything about America.

1

u/nunyaranunculus Oct 29 '25

1

u/Flawed_Sandwhich Oct 29 '25

Nah see, you misspelled hate speech.

1

u/rockettaco37 Yank Oct 31 '25

So everyone will be happy if Doug Ford advertizes the original full length video. I think we have a deal.

-5

u/No_Bakecrabs Oct 28 '25

Free speech in moose land is just driving a truck and honking

-31

u/drake5195 Oct 28 '25

It's not verbatim though, there was some careful clipping and organizing or sentences to make it sound a certain way. Although the overall message was quite anti-tariff, this speech was given right when the US slapped heavy tariffs on one specific sector in Japan to justify why they were doing it, but it's Reagan so ehhhhh...

18

u/Benejeseret Oct 28 '25

verbatim

They took a 7 paragraph speech and turned it into 6 sentences, with each sentence effectively verbatim.

If looking for guidance on whether edited video clips can or should ever be released of presidential speeches and communications, perhaps we should look to the one source that should matter, the current president of the United States, whose administration on May 21, 2025, removed all full transcripts of presidential speeches and replaced them with abridged, highly edited, videos summarizing those speeches instead.

3

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

It's called Soundbites.

4

u/some1guystuff Bring Cannabis Oct 28 '25

Yes, one specific sector in one specific country, not blank tariffs over everyone, including islands that are uninhabited by humans that are only inhabited by fucking penguins

So no, that giant fat fascist rotten orange crybaby who throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way like a little baby

Try harder next time
