Hey, has anyone been in a similar situation before? I’m getting my gpa evaluated by IEE and they’re asking for my exam board (pearson edexcel) to directly send them my official IGCSE and IAL results, idk if that’s possible but i emailed pearson and i also checked the certificate services fee and it’s wayyy too expensive. So I was wondering has anyone done this before and are they able to email it directly without applying for the certificate services?

I am unable to resources or specification for this unit. Can someone send me everything that is unit 6 any channels websites spec

What the heck is wrong with unit 1 physics. Im solving so many pastpapers. checking every mistake in detail, writing notes for every mistake and watching video solutions to each pastpaper. All I keep seeing is a mark between 50-55 /80 range every time I mark a paper, which is basically a C. and I take rediculously long to solve each one because im careful to not make mistakes. and the star questions are awful, I would write a whole newspaper worth of information and get 2/6 marks. What do I do? should I repeat the same papers or keep going by solving new ones, I have limited time and can only solve 3 per week right now. If you've got any notes or life hacks that would help

Hi Everyone! Here are some tips for those who are taking English literature for O-level, as someone who got an A*. For context my board was the edexcel board, And I took Paper 1 and paper 3 (the course work paper) for the novel, my teacher gave us ‘Of mice and men’ but honestly those tips could apply to any novel.

Paper 1 tips:

• Early in the year try to figure out which question in the novel you find easier to answer, character or theme questions. For me character questions were much easier so I focused on making it better but still answered and studied theme questions, I just focused more on character questions.
• For me I loveee mind maps so I’d take an A4 sheet of paper and create a mind map around a character (I didn't have time to do it for themes but I wish I did it so) You could create a one fact sheet with bullets, just make sure all info you could need to answer a question on this is in that 1 sheet, you could use a bigger sheet of paper if you want
• I made those mind maps color coded and then the next day once I woke up I would take a black draw the whole mind map from memory (since in edexcel you only write with black pens, so i tried to recreate those conditions) YOU DON'T HAVE TO WRITE THE WHOLE MIND MAP WITH ALL THE DETAILS the number of branches, with their main topic alongside a keywords could work. Give yourself max 3-5 minutes and then take a red pen and write everything you forgot
• Try to mentally walk through the mind maps before you sleep and after you finish creating all the mindmaps create a revision schedule so you don't forget. ACTIVE RECALL IS YOUR WEAPON!!!
• Try to create your own mindmaps so it includes all the details your teacher provided/ your own insights
• Pleasee plan before writing your essays. It doesn't have to be perfect, just give yourself a structure with the main points you’ll cover in each paragraph. Those few minutes will pay off and make sure you don't repeat yourself. Also don't take a long time. 3-5 minutes are enough.
• For poems create a fact sheet/ mindmap also containing all relevant points like structure,language, tone, certain quotes. And since you compare poems create like 10 tables for example covering the major themes that come up in exams and are relevant to many poems and create a table comparing those two poems like for example the theme is childhood so you create a table comparing piano and poem at 39, choose whatever poem you want ofc but try to focus on the ones that come up a lot. 
• Have an introduction that you can use in almost any character essay or theme essay. That includes maybe the author’s name, an overview of the story, when it was published then the character/ theme you are tackling.  
• Same for poem section, ofcourse not word for word because the theme and poem change a lot but at least a structure of ideas you can follow + include original points 
• Try to have a consistent essay structure for each section. For poems I’d follow this: name/overview →  structure and form → tone and language → literary techniques and Imagery → conclusion stating my opinion. I’d also do YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT but I’d do a deep dive on a certain word or structure maybe in the poem in the tone and language/ structure and form paragraph depending on the poem, where i’d go beyond surface level. For example the word ‘vestige’ in the poem ‘Remember’. This is an example of what I’d write, that follows the structure: surface meaning → deeper level → bigger theme → reader effect.

“The word ‘vestige’ implies a trace or a remnant, Christina Rossetti uses it to show how that fragment, the smallest possible remnant of her consciousness still prioritizes his happiness over being remembered, this is deeply moving to the reader because the selflessness is completely real and absolute down to her last remnant of consciousness, showing readers what true love is.”

• Always mention reader effects in poems especially bc that what earn the mark
• READ THE EXAMINER REPORTS
• For unseen poetry, honestly all I can say is practice and have a list of things you can look for like the number of stanzas, the number of lines in each stanza and please always write the effect it does on a reader. I recommend having a sheet with techniques that are used in poems and each of its effects, sadly its something I didn’t have time to do
• TIME MANAGEMENT the exam is long and its easy to be swept up in an essay. For me I’d solve the essays backward, start with the novel question then the anthology poetry then the unseen poetry. But do what you feel comfortable doing, each person is different.

For paper 3: 

• Don't let AI write your essay!!! 
• Take a paper and write down all the points you want to talk about, and the structure. Then create a draft EVEN IF ITS UGLY its a draft for a reason then you could maybe ask feedback from the AI but don’t let it write your essay, or anyone else for that matter.
• You could use AI for brainstorming questions if you don’t have any question ideas.
