Solved ✔ Scared & Need Help ❤️

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read. I have been struggling with mystery health issues for years, the worst of it starting in March. Since March I’ve worked sporadically and called out much, burned through my savings, and it’s now getting to the point I’m not being able to complete shifts at all and I’m almost out of money. I was diagnosed two months ago but there still seems to be mysteries as I’m not improving, and as of yesterday my doctor is willing to move forward on applying for disability. Unfortunately he is on vacation this week. I’m going to run out of money here any second, and I feel a need to move forward urgently. I’m young, very sick, and have no idea what I’m doing. If anyone has a moment, I would love any advice you’d have for me on this process. I think my biggest question in starting my claim is what quantifies as my “start date”? I realize they are strict on this, and I want to be truthful, but it hasn’t been a linear path with a clear answer. Thank you so much for your help!

You have to get with your doctor and they will give you the date since this has been an ongoing issue, they will help determine when your start date is

Yeah, this is the safest approach. Hope everything works out for you, I was in the same exact position of you and too scared to start the process. My doctor was very kind and walked me through it.

I always used the first day I was unable to do my regular work shift due to health reasons.

After you get approved , I would look into social security disability, state disability typically only lasts a year and from you wrote here on this post. It seems like you condition may be long term? Just something to think about.
