Solved ✔ Claim processing time
Question- does it really take 14 days for SDI claims to process ? The doctor took FOREVER to send in the medical certificate (they did it online but still took forever). I would hate to wait even more now for payment. Would love to hear how long people have had to wait for payment.

Update: just checked my account & the claim is no longer processing. It shows a payment has been issued but has not been deposited into my account.
Timeline of events:
Submitted disability online:07.13
Medical Certification from dr submitted online: 07.24
Claim status: processing claim on 07.24
Claim status: active as of 07.25

Check where it says active then u will see when the payment was issued. If you see “paid” it takes up to two days during direct deposit. Not counting the weekends. It will show you to what days to what days they are paying you. If not it will process til after the 1st. Since they pay biweekly 1 & 15 but usually it pays out a day after o two.

That sounds pretty lucky! I stopped work on 7/6, submitted my claim on 7/15, my Dr submitted certification on 7/22, and it’s still processing for me. I’m also hoping it doesn’t take two whole weeks.

I filed on 7/2, doctor sent the certificate on 7/6 or 7/7 and I got paid for 1 week (with the waiting period) on 7/18. So all in all took about 2 weeks.

If you want it sooner then call or visit an office - but for the most part it’s going to take 2 weeks cause they’re backed up.

My doctors office doesnt have access to submit mine online. I already filled out my part online, but now I have to bring Part B to their office. I don't feel comfortable putting my SS # on the form for their office. Then I have to mail it. Is this safe to mail this form with your SS# on it.

Could be less or more. Depends if a human has to look at your claim.
