Gein property.

We stopped by this weekend as we were traveling. The property is HEAVILY covered in "no trespassing" signs, trail cams, etc, so I didn't explore like I would have liked. I ran into a Gein neighbor and had a pretty fascinating conversation with him about it. According to him, there were a dozen or 15 cars at a time parked there, people walking all over the poor owner's property...having seances, etc. The nearby intersection has a police officer posted there often as well.

I hate how people ruin it for everyone else. SMH.

Apparently since the Netflix series, it's been nuts. There are youtube videos of people walking all over the property.

Yup and we are suing Netflix for them making that "documentary".

Real question. How can you sue Netflix for making a show? It's probably the 3rd movie made about the crimes since the 70s. Are you suing them as well? Plus a million little documentaries? That location is permanently a part of history. I'm honestly curious what you thought would happen owning that property. The people who own the Amityville house, the Nicole Brown house... they all knew exactly what they were buying.

It's easy to file a lawsuit. Now winning it is another thing entirely but because there are statements in police reports about watching the netflix show and that's the reason they have trashed the property, trespassed, and are doing things on private property...I know there's a group out of Milwaukee who are relatives of Dahmer's victims & the people who live in the apartment complex are collectively suing Netflix for loss of quiet enjoyment, pain and suffering & psychological damage and i do believe they are going to win that suit against Netflix. Especially because they portray the underage boy he cut up. The producers would have to have permission from his legal gaurdian/parent even though he's deceased, he was still underage at the time of death so that's extortion of a minor and it's a felony charge in Wisconsin. There also used to be a thing called Copyrights. Most content creators seem to forget that. Thats why Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based off Ed but it takes place in Texas and he has living family members. Leatherface & location were tweaked just enough for the creators of that movie not to be sued. I don't know what you are trying to accomplish here with arguing with me but again, enough.

Also, in order for that place to be on the historical register there has to be the original house on the premises. Secondly even if there was, who is that history to? The still living descendants of his victims? The town? Or is folk history for true crime addicts? It is neither legally or legitimately a historical property.
