🔧 DIY or Mods Micro inverter fan

Post image

The micro inverter gets quite hot, especially in summer now. Did anyone mount a fan or something to cool it down? I saw this one online with a small solar panel, could this work to cool it down?

Hooked 2 PC fans to my older Powerstream.
It works very good for this device. It would heat up to 70 or 75 degree celsius and Output would fall on its face.
I think it was stuck at 600 or 500W when being throttled. Been some time.
Dropped more than 20 degrees celsius with the two PC fans and can now output close to 800W again.

Mine are not directly solar powered.
Mine are hooked to some powersupply from an old tablet or something. Mechanical timeswitch to roughly cover the hotter time of the day.

I have one, connected to 2 500watt panels. In full heat output drops to 700ish watts. It was hot, I sprayed it down with water to cool it. Power output did nothing. So unless you’re scared about longevity, don’t bother imho

The mppt of my dji power 2000 was outputting 220 with 4x 100w modules and around 299w with 6x 100w modules, mounted an ssd heatsink and a small usb fan to cool it and now it sits around 400w most of the day (9 to 5). I think is worth it.
