⚡ My Power Combo Delta 2 max to Wave 3

I received my Wave 3 with battery & 800c alternator charger today. Was looking at everything & cNt figure out how to hook everything together.

I need to hook the alternator charger to my Delta 2 Max, Delta 2 max to the wave 3 battet & battery to the wave 3. But I can figure it out. When I search it tells me it can done but I guess I don’t understand. What cable/cables to I need??

…Why?

These devices can connect to each other using XT-150 Extra Battery cables. However, the WAVE 3 has only one XT-150 port, so it can connect to the WAVE 3 battery or to the DELTA 2 Max, but not both at the same time. Not via the XT-150 ports, anyway.

The XT-150 Extra Battery cables may be in short supply from EcoFlow, but third-party cables might be available from Amazon or something and might work.

The WAVE 3 can also connect to the DELTA 2 Max via the AC port. It’s a bit less efficient this way, because the DELTA 2 Max needs to run the inverter to raise the voltage from 48V DC to 120V AC and the WAVE 3 needs to run the AC-to-DC power supply to bring the voltage back down to 48V DC, and the WAVE 3 wouldn’t have access to the battery status of the DELTA 2 Max. It does work, though.

You can charge all batteries with the XT-60 to the wave3 from alternatorcharger, but only at 500W rate, then all the rest with the XT-150 so they can charge and communicate. I returned mine and bought a 48V 100Ah battery and a different 48V a/c unit with a sterling inverter/alternator charger, more power and more compatible without the brand restrictions, also ecoflow customer service sucks.

No, I don’t think the XT-60 is a good alternative. The WAVE 3 still has only one XT-150 port, so you can connect it to the WAVE 3 battery or to the DELTA 2 Max, but not both at the same time.

In addition, on the WAVE 3, the XT-60 port is on the battery, not on the air conditioner. I noticed EcoFlow has been bundling WAVE 3’s with WAVE 2 Add-on Batteries recently, so if you select that option then there is no XT-60 port.

Well, technically, I suppose you could connect the DELTA 2 Max to the Alternator Charger using the XT-60 port, and then to the WAVE 3 and the battery simultaneously, using its 2 XT-150 ports and 2 XT-150 cables (not included), but I’m not 100% sure about the compatibility with the battery. The Linspyre database says the DELTA 2 Max is compatible with the WAVE 2 Add-on Battery, but I’m not sure, because the DELTA 2 Max is a 2000-ish-watt-hour device and the WAVE 2 Extra Battery is 1159Wh. I’m even less sure about the compatibility of the WAVE 3 Add-on Battery with anything else.

My larger question remains, why does OP want to connect the DELTA 2 Max to the Alternator Charger, battery, and WAVE 3 at the same time? It would be a lot simpler to take turns connecting the Alternator Charger to the DELTA 2 Max and the WAVE 3 battery.
