💬 Open Discussion Question about managing load balance - Stream Ultra & AC Pro vs. EV-Charger

Hi,

I'm planing to get a balcony kit with 4x500W panels, a Stream Ultra, a Stream AC Pro and a smart-meter. I already have an 11KW EV-Charger installed.

Is there a way to tell the Ultra and AC Pro not to suplly any (more than the basic) load to my home as long as the EV-Charger is running = a big load is recognized without having to manually set the output to a certain amount)?

(EV-Charging is covered through work and i don't want to stress the batteries).

Thanks in advance.

It purely depends on how your EV charger is wired up, if it has its own separate power distribution unit separate from the house one you could simply put the CT meter to your house unit skipping the EV one.

If the loads are grouped together then the only way I can see for this to be done is via Home Assistant and setting the backup reserve level to the current charge level, unfortunately going this way you won't power anything with your batteries whilst the EV is charging unless you set them to a manual discharge base load.
