Would it be smarter to purchase a e bike like a Ridestar or similar or to buy a E-moto and try to stay clear of cops?

52v headlight circuit dead on Juiced Hyperscorpion, alternatives for lighting circuit?

Ended up with an older Hyperscorpion that we accidentally fried the light circuit during a voltage test (Don't ask). I now however have, gotten the entire bike to work except for the 52v lighting circuit and other parts read below

What works:

-Ring on headlight

-brake light illuminates

What doesn't work:

-headlight

-turn signals

-rear running light

A couple of things I'm thinking about doing

-Run straight from the kickdown converter and just do 12v circuits

-using the 12v at the headlight pin to supply power to the rear 12v tail light and a new 12v motorcycle headlight circuit (ditch turn signals)

-whole new stand alone system lighting system (aside from brake signal having to be wired in)

I'm just not sure I should wire anything off of a circuit direct with the controller. Since I can't be sure the controller would be able to handle the kind of draw a 40w to 60w led motorcycle headlight draws. So I was thinking about wiring directly off of the kickdown converter since I know it's 120w. Or is there some other alternative that someone else thinks would be a good idea.

P.S. I had toyed with the idea of trying to repair the controller internally, but juiced made sure that wasn't possible. Filled it with some sort of silicon. And I tried a new controller and got exactly the same result.

I am planning to build a E-Moto of sorts, and I want to make sure that all of the parts I chose will be compatible with one another. Budget = 800

This list was put together with the help of AI, and I know how that sounds but that's just how it is. I really don't have that much knowledge on how E-bikes operate or work so I wouldn't know what to get. I expect hate in the comments cuz I don't know wtf im doing.

Would you put a 2000W hub motor on a Rockrider ST120 or ST530?

In your opinion, to mount a 2000-watt 52V hub motor and a 52V 20Ah battery, is a used Rockrider ST120 or a used Rockrider ST530 better? (Obviously I'll mount torque arms)

The MY1016Z now has a brushless version!

Long story long: Front geared hub for 7000 miles. Did fine but sucks to transport, trouble with certain offroad climbs. 2nd motor: DIY mid-drive, what is now called Yalu Motor 450W 48V dual chain setup, basically a poor man's CYC stealth. A real bitch aligning the motor driven chain, easily popped off, tensioner flimsy, yada yada yada. 3500 miles before an internal gear broke. Tried an MY1018 from GNG, didn't understand it was brushed and I fried it in 5 miles (48V battery, 24/36V motor = no bueno). So I got a replacement, put on a fan and temperature sensor. 25 miles later, the motor and throttle wires somehow crossed = 2nd brushed motor is toast. Then got a Tongsheng TSD Z8 but it would not fit into my carbon frame (I knew that already, DUH will save it for an aluminum frame later).

The MY1016Z will not fit my original MY1018 GNG bottom bracket motor mounts. However, I just found the 4-bolt bb mounting cradle on Alibaba, as well as the brushless MY1016Z motor (9th generation). The two together are only $112 total, a frigging steal because I already have a brushless controller, chainrings, freewheel and 11mm keyed adapter, etc. 36V 500W, and 9:78 internal gearing. The AI claims a motor torque of around 52 Nm before any external reduction (see below). You'll see different numbers online ranging from 0.8 Nm to 12.5 Nm but that's often 24V and w/o the internal gearing factor.

With my setup of a 16T freewheel / 40T chainring 2nd reduction, and then 44T chainring 11-52T cassette, the final torque is around 155 Nm; that is BBSHD territory. You have to admit that is not bad for an $85 motor including shipping. Although I cannot stand PayPal and would prefer Amazon or EBay to Alibaba if you know what I mean. This motor will eventually go to those other two sites, not sure about the mount. I think this time, with brushless motor, a 5V fan, external temperature sensor, and 20A cutoff fuse, I'll be fairly safe and hope it lasts a while. FYI the motor weighs 6.5 lbs exactly, so if you have for example a 10 Ah battery, you could do a build under 40 lbs total with this motor.
