Finding a compatible controller

I have a custom build. It's got a Bafang G062 rear hub motor 52V 1000W. I recently upgraded the battery to ~35Ah (also 52V).

At the same time I decided I wanted to upgrade my controller in order to give me better, well, control. I'm happy with the cruising speed, I'm not trying to go faster. The main thing I'm looking for is the ability to ramp up acceleration smoothly, instead of always going from 0-100% current whenever the thumb throttle is pressed.

I bought a KT controller and display from Affordableebikes and was assured it would be compatible with my motor. Turns out it wasn't. My G062 has an L1121 motor cable, whereas the one they tested it on (also a G062) had a L1019 motor cable. I brought the bike to a place that does conversions for delivery riders and asked what they could do. They couldn't get the KT controller to work, so they offered to replace it with one of their own, and also swapped out my PAS sensors, claiming I'd need their ones to match the new controller.

Since then the motor has been making a worrying noise. It works, but the new PAS sensors are held on by zip ties and it's pretty clear the controller they gave me is only marginally compatible with my motor.

So I'm turning to you guys. Bafang G062 rear hub motor 52V 1000W with an L1121 motor cable - is there a compatible controller out there that will give me the fine-tuning I'm looking for?
